    Default Vehicle sounds issues

I was monkeying around and found out vehicles sounds are barely going to the center channel in 5.1 setups. The only way to hear vehicle sounds clearly is to aim to the left or right to where your crosshair is perpendicular to the vehicle so you can hear the sounds coming out of the front side channels. I think this affects people out of vehicles also. You can't really hear a vehicle that is driving past you unless you're at certain angles.

having some problem here with vehicle sounds as well. don;'t know if it is also related to the problem you mention. but i cannot seem to hear the vehciles like it was in ut2004.

because there you could here vehicles coming from a distance. here i usually hear the vehicles when they almost hit me. this way it's hard to run from vehicles. and dodge them. also as dodges aren't that big anymore like in ut2k4.

have played with audio settings but cannot seem to get the vehicle sounds better. because getting more SFX sound also mean more sounds from your weapons and from your walking.

maybe something to change in the coming patch??

I can second that. Having a X-Fi XTreme Gamer - I also noticed they hit me and I never hear them coming. Especially the Manta ...

Anyone knows tweaks on that ?

People have mentioned it several times. I'm surprised no-one has started a mutator for it yet...

well - yes. You're right. But - not everyone actually knows how to do that, and some also don't have time. And even some lack both prerequisits

to be honest my opinion is that this should be something which is handles by epic through a patch.
having mutators for this will mean that the mutator has to be run by the server you want to play on. avoiding all of this fuzz epic should implement this in a patch.

hopefully they will in the future patch.

anyone have some temporary workaround for this? probably not as it will still not function online

by the way I agree that it is especially the manta which is quiet silent. although it is logical for flying vehicles to be more silent than land vehicles. but overall all the vehicles are too silent.
increasing their volume for bystanders while keeping the same ratio between their levels will be a good solution if epic implement it. although in-vehicle sound should not be increased it is fine the way it is.

Agreed on that one... A little bit more sound could help survive longer.
In RL - we also hear cars coming in and go by side ...
Else - we wouldn't be here to discuss that issue - right ?

true lol... otherwise we wouldn't be here. we can even go as far by saying that even we do hear cars in real life and still some die in an accident.

(unfortunately my cousin died a few months back. but that's offtopic)

i put this reaction into the 1.3 path thread as well (together with better dodging) so hopefully epic will reply to it by solving these problems in the patch
