    Thumbs up Ut3 and maya

Hello. im not very familiarized with the ut3 map editor. but i wanna get really good at it. im a computer animator so i know how this things work.

But i have a question if anyone knows. is it possible to transfer models from maya or 3d max something like that? and make your own bump map/ displacement maps textures for the maps or does it come with textures already?

Frag Friday is an event that often occurs on Friday nights in the North American UT CTF community. It was founded in response to the dwindling population of players who enjoy playing regular weapons CTF on custom (user-made) maps on public servers.

It comes with all the textures they used in the game, but they give you all the tools necessary to create/import your own textures and bump maps.

pop over to here http://udn.epicgames.com/Main/WebHome.html , you can use maya or max to make custom content for UT3 and by using the actorx plug-in you can export your models to the ut3 editor, on the texture side most forms of map are supported.

You can use Maya as much as you want. Just know that (according to Hourences -- and honestly it makes complete sense) you'll need to be REALLY careful about leaving your meshes in too big of chunks. Don't be afraid to slice'n'dice your mesh up... don't go anal of course... but still slice it up into manageable chunks.
