i found 3 other guys with the same gfx (Ati x1950 xtx). they have the same problem.
I have a Sapphire Radeon X1950 XTX, and I'm having the same problem as well.
It either freezes right when spawning, or when teleporting (in DM-Deck for example).
I did not have this problem with the beta demo, and the crashes seem to occur very randomly, sometimes I can play 2 hours straight without it freezing up, at other times it freezes up right when I want to play my first match.
I'd really like to know a solution for this, so far I've only seen threads about other VGA brands, or other kind of problems.
I've been browsing this forum for quite a while, but just now I registered just to be able to post this.. should give you an idea about how desperate I am xD
Does anyone have any idea or suggestions about this?
Thanks on advance!
DD
We're just seeing needless duplication of identical problems from different people. We don't need another thread about the same thing. It's getting hard to find unique problems because they are overshadowed by the same ones everyone keeps creating new threads for. Not trying to be mean but as someone who spends a fair amount of time trying to help others here, it's hard to find problems other than "hitching" and "freezing" - we get that, please try not to make duplicate threads. Also, use the search function.

Reposting what I've said in other threads:
For one thing, disable OpenAL hardware sound in your Audio settings in-game.
Also, try one of these options, depending on your video chipset. You can find them in My Documents\MyGames\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config.
For NVIDIA cards:
[Engine.ISVHacks]
UseMinimalNVIDIADriverShaderOptimization=True
bInitializeShadersOnDemand=True
For older ATI cards:
[Engine.ISVHacks]
DisableATITextureFilterOptimizationChecks=False
Another troubleshooting tip, regardless of video card:
[Engine.ISVHacks]
PumpWindowMessagesWhenRenderThreadStalled=True
This prevents lockups in the cinematic videos in the single player campaign, and possibly other times. I have no idea why this isn't the default setting, or what it means, otherwise.
See the thread linked in my sig for other options.
