Default What resolution do you play at?

I'm just curious as to what resolutions most people are running this demo at. I'm not sure what's most common at this point.

I know there are a few variances in aspect ratios (16:10 vs 16:9 and 5:4 vs 4:3), so apologies if your exact resolution isn't listed. Polls can only have up to ten options. =]

    1680 x 1050.

i tried 1280x1024, i noticed it slows down a bit more than in 1024x768, so i guess i'll stick with 1024x768.

i have a Samsung Syncmaster 730B, maximum resolution is 1280x1024, so 1024x768 doesn't look too squeezed compared to 800x600.

if Epic do make improvements for the full version, maybe it would run faster in 1280x1024 for me.

Sometimes a 21" CRT comes in handy

I'm still gaming with my 21" Sony Trinitron CRT as well. I hope it never dies..

    Playing at 1280x960.

(by the way.. 1280x1024 is an aspect ratio of 5:4, and normal CRTs are 4:3, so 1280x960 is the 'natural res', same as 800x600 and 1600x1200.)

Interesting poll. It seems that a good amount of people have low end systems like me.

1024x768 and runs decent. 1280x1024 would crawl for me

1680x1050 ... the perfect size for my system. Once I get a quad cpu then I will get a 24" and deal with lower contrast ratio's in exchange for a higher res but atm my 22" 5000:1 (highest available for LCD monitors) 2ms LG provides me with a great picture so I am very happy.

You need a monitor which is at least 24" in order to get a 1900x1200 or 1900x1600 resolution.

1280x768 I think. I have a 22" widescreen, but only an 8600GT. 1680x1050 gets me 20 fps online, but the lower resolution gives me a smooth 40. Can't wait for the 8800GTs next week.

1x 24 costs the same as 2x 22 or there about, and to play at 1920x1200(16:10) / 1920x1080(16:9) you need a beast of a machine, you already need quite hefty hardware to play smoothly at 1680x1050(16:10) / 1600x1200(4:3) which is what 22'' screens have.

Most 4:3 CRT screens are using the 5:4 1280x1024 because it has more pixels, though most don't seem to know that the image gets squished vertically to accommodate those extra pixels, I first noticed when I started doing graphics on my 19'' CRT (was my only screen then, then I got 2x 19'' cts, then an additional 17'' crt, now I got 22''w LCD 20''w LCD the same 19''crt and a 15'' LCD) make something exacly round in photoshop holding shift to force the proportions to stay 1:1, and it looks oval, I switched to 960 when I saw that and people explained why.

    It's KriLL3.8/KriLL3/Krille if you please.
Switch to a 8800gt, costs less and is better.

Power protection is tricky since there aren't any good standards in it and it's quite hard to rate them, and the only time you know something happened is when it melts, you don't know how many potential issues it actually averted.
The lights don't have to go for funky stuff to happen with your power levels, in some places the voltage can vary horribly and that's bad for electronics, it's common in outer suburbs and rural areas, towns/cities usually have more stable power. And no protection I know of actually saves your PC if lightning strikes, the only protection you can have is unplug everything (if you have a powerstrip with a switch it's not enough, actually unplug and move the plug away from the socket).

I didn't find a good match for that mobo on google, mind linking it? Do you have a Micro ATX case? ATX cases are the "standard" size, Micro ATX are a lot smaller.

1280x1024 thats all my screen can support.

I was a long-time fan of 1024x768 even when my screen could support higher.

The PSU is a good one, is your case actually micro atx? That mobo is mATX and thus lacks a bit of stuff, has few PCI-e and PCI slots and only 2 ram slots.

Got it, the case is actually ATX, you should get an ATX motherboard, the mATX mobo will work fine with the case, but an ATX mobo has more PCI-e, PCI and ram ports/slots etc. And is in general better bang for your buck since they don't have to put all components really close. The rest of the parts gets a thumbs up from me.
