    On a Quad Core 6600, 2GB ram and 8600GT 512mb. It didn't perform good at all. Lowering the resolution didn't change the perfomance. I had to literally do worst graphics settings all on lowest in order to get a descent framerate.

    I'm just confused since my system should play it at least medium/high.

    Oh and I have Vista 32bit home premium... is it my OS that is slowing me down maybe?

    Okay I have more than enough logs on the Kernel32.dll crash, thanks guys. We're looking into it. Can you try this potential workaround:

    If you are an administrator, Open: Program Files\Unreal Tournament 3 Demo\UTGame\Config\UTEngine.ini
    Otherwise open: My Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3 Demo\UTGame\Config\UTEngine.ini

    Change the line
    bInitializeShadersOnDemand=False
    to
    bInitializeShadersOnDemand=True

    Edit:*RESTART BEFORE TRYING TO RUN THE DEMO AGAIN*

    Does it still crash?

    I more or less have the kernel problem aswell, I get to the menu, some times I can stay for 30sec other times I crash after 2secs.

    Here is my log (should be enough right? Scream if you need the specs of my box and I'll give you a dxdiag aswell).

    Edit: Oh forgot to mention, I did try: bInitializeShadersOnDemand=True with no good results.

    Edit 2: Removed url to log, problem solved for me.

    The game was crashing, everytime, within 10 minutes of playing...

    It stopped crashing when I disabled "Use Hardware OpenAL"...

    I have a Sound Blaster X-FI Fatal1ty... Definitely fix this issue please, or have Creative release some drivers (god forbid).

    I'm having the same "Crash after the movies" bug. It crashes either as soon as the movies finish playing, or very soon afterwards when I'm in the menu.

    Crashes with, or without the "bInitializeShadersOnDemand=True" fix.

    the bInitializeShadersOnDemand=True worked for me.

    had to restart the pc for it to work, since a couple of tries opening the demo bugged my computer so I couldn't open any games at all.

    When I play I get a black screen and then a don't send error.
    My pc: Athlon 64 4000+ X2, MP 7600GS 256 DDR3, 2x 512MB DDR2 800 A-Data, Windows XP Professional SP2
    What I think is, it might be the videocard, because it mostly crashes when a cool lightning effect happens. Though it also happened right after loading a map. So who knows ...

    After the splash screen has been on the screen for about 10 minutes, it will start, but after the Intel logo I get a black screen of death (no input, output or error message). I have all the latest drivers and meet the requirements. I ran BioShock Demo just fine (aside from some BSOD crashes and crashes during loading screens).

    My hardware:

    1GB DDR2 400 RAM
    80GB 7200RPM SATA3.0GB/s Hard drive

    Benoyd, it looks like you need to install the AMD hotfix (called AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor Driver Version 1.3.2.0053) on this page:

    Could you try installing that? It should have come with the demo, I'll double check.

    Ramrod the game is failing for you because you are below minimum specs (Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family) You need to have at least a Radeon 9600 or a Geforce 6200 to run the demo.

    I and some other people with late nvidia 7 series graphics cards like the 7600GT have been having some problems with 'no signal' on monitor error after the intro vids, i think ive found a workaround however, if i minimise the game until i hear the intro vids have finished and then restore the window. The only problem is after this, i load up a map and get the kernel32.dll error and crash.

    I did a Google search of the BlueScreen code and found that it might be connected to the X-Fi series of sound cards.

    I get the blackscreen bug as well, but not until levels actually start loading, I can get past the opening movies and menu fine. The blackscreen occurs if I try to change any video setting apart from the resolution. If I leave them at defaults the game will run (but looks terrible).

    The game usually starts crashing at this point as well.

    Im getting a DEP (data execution prevention) which shuts the game down at the splash screen more often than not, ive tryed to allow ut access without this enabled but windows says that i need to have this on for this application.

    Using Vista x86 with all latest updates.
    c2d E6600 2.4 ghz

    2 gig 800mhz ram

    do u need any log or anything?

    its a dell 1907FP. it allows 800x600 to 1280x1024. Im playing in 1024x768.


    *EDIT*if I remember correctly it was in 640x480 on its default load when it first worked which my monitor wouldnt like I imagine.

    For anyone who suspects audio problems: The latest drivers might also have the same problems. One way you can isolate the audio driver is to temporarily turn off hardware acceleration: Go to control panel->sound->Speaker settings->advanced->performance-> and turn hardware acceleration all the way down, then apply settings and restart the demo.

    I started playing the demo on almost the lowest possible settings. The first game went fine but right before the end of the first game the demo crashed. I got back to my desktop with my resolution locked at 800*600 and 4 bit color depth. Gonna try playing again. I have had a crashing problem before with Bioshock but that was a different error. Hope this helps.
