Who do you think is the Gears best sniper??

Out of the Gears who do you think is the best sniper of them? I say either marcus or baird. Carmine looks like a sniper type of guy but hes still laying on some stairs with a sniper bullet in his skull.

Actually I say Hoffman or Marcus. Maybe Dom too. My reason is Hoffman and Marcus look like they can sit there and wait to pop a guys head off. Baird, Cole, Carmine, and Kim seem like more run and gun types. Dom is kinda like Hoffman and Marcus.

Anyway, best Sniper is Baird. He has the goggles and has about SIX headshot quotes. I'm 99% he's the COG's preferred Sniper.

well ur 100% wrong. there ISNT a perferred sniper. everyone in gears has lancers. there is no info or evidence on any COG snipers in delta squad. No evidence of any snipers. So people stop saying who ur absolutly sure is the sniper. THERE ISNT ANY!!!! they gave quotes to people for sniping in multiplayer because everyone can be a sniper in gears. (doesnt mean they will be good though because ive seen a billion terrible people at gears, especially sniping)

I'm not talking about online play or individual player sniping skills...

I'm talking about the Campaign. Just look at Baird. Doesn't he look like the sniping type to you...? I wish someone from Epic would confirm that Baird's character was meant for the Longshot.

Also, the Locust have their own sniper (one with goggles/no armor) and Baird is the COGs answer to that guy.

No, cole doesnt use boomshot and hoffman never touches hammer so idk what you're talking about. In campaign NO ONE uses sniper (all lancer) but marcus and dom, if you play as him on co-op. Dom and marcus are the only ones who seem to use other weapons. In campaign marcus encourages dom to use hammer ex. "Dom lets drop the hammer!". Im just asking who you think looks like the sniping type. Gears doesnt have a perferred sniper, Baird looks like a sniper, but I look at him more as a quick shotgun guy who is smart and uses cover to take the advantage against his enemies.

nah i dont know if there goodles i always thought of them as a form of sunglasses. because if that was true both carmine and baird would be snipers. but as to carmine complaining about his gun jamming.

These are weapons I think suit the characters, nothing more man.

Carmine definitly, he is the only one to have a mission in EVERY level. That's the only weapon he uses in the story mode.

True, but the poll doesn't include Bernie or Padrick, unfortunately. I'd say Carmine too but I imagine Fenix is naturally handy with one.

Well everyone who's read the books knows that the best sniper by far is Bernie, but out of these choices I'd say Baird. He's smart, logical, not quite as tough as the other guys (Still tough, of course), and he's definitely really good at math, which is a must for snipers.

So yeah, out of those choices, Baird. Otherwise Bernie.

Alright, if we were to base this off of reality, then none of those mentioned on that list would operate well with a Longshot. For one, all of them are major infantry based grunts, who are more efficient with a Lancer then a Longshot.

Marcus:

- He may be the main character, but lets take into consideration that in his Military training and career, he hasn't been to Sniper school, hasn't learned to a fight with that weapon. Rather, he's picked it up as a last resort and fired off a few shots. That may seem impressive, but if we're going by real life here, he'd never be able to come out as the best let a lone take down whole legions of Grubs with his skill and training regarding the Longshot.

Baird:

- Baird is not a sniper. Simple as that. As mentioned, many might think so due to his goggles, but in fact, he's not. He's more of an Engineer then a sniper, as JAM said. Math is great and all, and is needed, but to base his skill off of sheer math skills alone amount to nothing. If we were to base it off of math and logic, we could say that Albert Einstein was a superb sniper. Being logical and tough is great, but that can only get you so far when it comes to the use of a high-caliber weapon such as the Longshot. End-word ... training.

Cole:

- Out of the three so far, I'd say Cole is the least experienced when it comes to the use of a sniper rifle. For one, Cole is a much more "in your face" type of character. Mix that in with front-line infantry duty and you've got a great CQC soldier. But in terms of a stealthy ghost-warrior, nope. Cole makes up for that lack in experience with his high volatile strength and brute force, but a sniper he is not.

Carmine(s):

- First of all, which Carmine are we speaking of here? If it's A. Carmine, then he's no sniper. He may have been killed by one, but he was straight forward infantry and only infantry. Then we have Ben ... Ben may have carried a Longshot with him, but at the same time, it doesn't mean he's the best sniper, as Easy pointed out. This is where it gets confusing. Okay, Ben most certainly has some skill when it comes to using a Longshot, but being a rookie straight from basic, he doesn't have the experience. Therefor, when it comes down to it, Marcus may just come out on top in terms of sheer knowledge and understanding of what the hell is going on. Ben may be skilled with the Longshot, but that was basic, where the targets might have been old cans on a fence. In the real-battles, the targets fire back and move around.

Kim:

- Kim is one of the best soldiers out there, when it comes to 'by-the-book'. However, at the same time, Kim could be strictly infantry just like everyone else. Would that mean he couldn't handle a Longshot? No. I'm pretty sure he might have had some experience with it prior to his demise, however, that still doesn't qualify him as the absolute best sniper.

Hoffman:

- He may have been a commando, he may have been a hot-shot in terms of being a soldier. But at the same time, just like everyone else, he was infantry. I bet he was a great foot-soldier, but a sniper? I don't think so. No matter bad ass you are or how many enemies you take out ... if your not trained with the proper and efficient use of a weapon, you won't be able to do more then aim (horribly) and fire. When it comes to being a sniper, you can't 'miss' a target and go in for a second 'redo'.

To be honest, everyone mentioned on that list isn't a sniper. Therefor, to say that they are the best sniper, doesn't work. They could be the best out of themselves, but in terms of a wide range such as the overall best sniper in all of Gears - no, none of them can be that.

Over all, the reason I choose Bernie as the best sniper is because of the following...

- She IS a sniper.
- She HAS faught in battles as a full sniper.
- She KNOWS how to use a Longshot, be it old or new.
- She HAS killed as a sniper.
- She still IS a sniper.
