Problem w/ Hosting

I'm trying to get the achievement for hosting 50 ranked matches on GoW. However, whenever I try to host a match with more than five people, it lags really badly. I have been troubleshooting for almost a day now and cannot figure out how to get a better connection, other than getting a new router that is Xbox LIVE compatible (Which will be a last resort).

Here are the things I've tried: Both wired and wireless connections, moving my Xbox 360 closer to the router, making the NAT open, and updating the router's firmware.

I'm new to the forums, so I wasn't sure where to put this, but I would really like some help, so I can host games and get my achievement.

go to www.speedtest.net and check your connection speed. you may just have a slow upload speed, and that is why you can only host with 5 players. You want about 400Kbps upload or better to host well.

Okay, so my connection speed is 118 kb/s (Uploads) - 368 kb/s (Downloads). Is there any way to raise to the 400 kb/s area?

try turning your ping on. i noticed this wasn't on for me and i had a bad connection. when i turned it on more people joined and everything ran a lot more smoothly

The only way to get a significantly faster upload would be to buy a new connection. I play on 782Kbps Down and 126Kbps up and will never get the hosting achievement, its just something we have to deal with...

^ If that's so, we could get a little 'project' going. If somebody wants help with the achievement, they could post here and anybody who is willing to go through a few laggy 1-round matches could look for their game. People like you and me could then get a few games in at a time and eventually could get our achievement.

Just a rough idea.
