lol I play with downspeed of 1100 and an upspeed of 300. I can't host games, though. But I'm so used to playing off-host, I usually do bad when I try to host anyway.

To host games, I would recommend having an upload connection speed of around 750 kb/s. Most games only require around 500 kb/s for a fairly lag free game, but Gears seems to be a different animal.
