How do I use the Downloadable Charectors?

Ok, so I've been waiting what seems like forever for UC2 to become backwards compatible, it finally is and I've really enjoyed the game. However, before I really start playing "seriously"

I would like to use the new characters and maps available on Xbox Live. I just downloaded them but when i went to setup an instant action game I didn't see them in the character roster. Do I have to do something special to get them into my game?

its simple, actually. heres what you do for all the characters.

to play as merc anubis, simply press the 'x' button over regular anubis.

press x over arclite to play as jackhammer
press x over szalor to play as kraag
press x sapphire to play as calypso
press x over raptor to play as szysigy
press x over lauren to play as lillith

to play as devastation, play through the acsension rites.

to play as necris selket, play through the ascension rites to unlock regular selket, then press x over that character.

to play as raiden beat all the challenges.

to play as brock, beat laurens tournament. press x over brock to play as judas.

to play as malcom beat every gametype online (win each type)

to play as gorge beat malcoms tournament.

to play as torgr beat szalors tournament. press x over torgre to play as garek.
