    Unhappy unable to update ut2003 on 64bit

    hi there

    I have win xp 64bit and I have ut2003 installation disk, I installed the program and I need the ut2004 editor for a college project, as that is the only version the college will accept.
    I have downloaded winpatch 2225 for ut2003 and installed it, the editor still works, to update ut2003 to ut2004, I got a patch called ut2004winpatch3369, I tried to install it, which it completed but then ut editor wouldn't start as I got an error;

    Build UT2004_Build_[2005-11-23_16.22]

    OS: Windows XP 5.2 (Build: 3790)
    CPU: AuthenticAMD Unknown processor @ 2802 MHz with 2047MB RAM
    Video: No Video

    Can't find 'ini:Engine.Engine.ViewportManager' in configuration file

    History: UObject::SafeLoadError <- UObject::StaticLoadClass <- UEditorEngine::Init <- UUnrealEdEngine::Init <- InitEngine

    So I went onto this forum and found a thread about 64bit machine problems and there was a link to a winpatch 3369 for 64bit xp users, I downloaded this and I tried to install but it was just a zip file not a self installing zip, so I was unsure where to put the files in the zip.

    I need help, can anyone help??

    thanks
    sam

    UT2003 and 2004 while having common content are two different games. You can't make UT2004 from UT2003 by patching the game with latest UT2004 patch - you need to get the game itself.

    Also looking at the error it's in no way related to 64bit OS - it exactly says were you have problems: "Can't find 'ini:Engine.Engine.ViewportManager' in configuration file" To fix this one should move Ut2003.ini and UnrealEd.ini from UT2003 folder to somewhere else. However in your case this most likely will only allow the editor to crash with some other message.
