hello i am new player for gears of war and xbox360... can i play split screen for multiplayer Xbox LIVE?? if yes how can i do it?? do i need to buy 2 gold cards ? and 2 different accounts??

You can in player matches but not in ranked.
RE: Because friends can dual host and the really skews the fairness of the game.
You can put second person in as a guest and play with them in player matches kinda of like halo.The Sons of Sera:

how come i don't see GUEST when i press Y for second players? do i have to join the game first and press Y ?

no you should be able to do it from the start screen, *hint* plug in 2nd controller first, and then it should sign in a guest.
