    Default ranked matches

I just wonder why people keep claiming that removing the host name makes matches more fair? Those people state that it matches equally skilled players against each other. I have to call BS on this because I've played tons of ranked matches since the patch, and I've gotten stuck with tons of below-average players on my team. It's one thing for someone to be having a bad game, but when people on your team do stupid things, it's pretty obvious that they're not in the same skill level bracket as you.

the ranking system does not pit you against players with the same skill set. How would they do this anyway? The points in GOW is based on who plays the most, not who is the best. I coul dbe at the top of the leaderboard if I had 12 hours to play each day.... but my kill to death ratio might be complete crap...

maybe one day we will see a better matching system, until then I am dealing with it.

god this forum is full of insane ppl right now. ok here goes,

    1) The Trueskill system works behind the scenes of the leaderboard. The Leaderboard has naff all to do with your skill level. I don't know how it works but according to epic, its a Microsoft/xbox live product thingy not epics so they can't do anything about it. The system takes into account alot of different factors, i don't know what they are so don't ask.

    2) Just because a player has a bad game or does something stupid doesn't mean that they aren't skilled. People just assume that because they get matched with ppl of the same skill that they will automatically become "TEAM UNSTOPPABLE!" sent to own all the noob players of the world. Guess what, doesn't happen.

I would guess that 90% of players know **** all about the way trueskill system works, myself included, so i suggest we just shut up and play the game.
Don't hate the game, learn how to play it.

OK. The TrueSkill and feedback system ONLY works when you join a QUICK match. If you can voluntarily pick each room you join, then you can enter against people you have left negative feedback against, people that are alot more skilled than you, and people that totally suck. I have joined rooms that had people in it with a 3/1 kdr and people that couldn't figure out how to do an active reload, but if you join a quick match(which everytime i search only 2 pop up) You will find equally skilled people and will not see people that you have avoided. The only way you will see people you avoided when you join a quick match is if he picks that same room after you have joined.

So, if you're right, Truskill only works with quick matches.. how completely useless, especially since you can't see even the vague little 3 bars that GoW uses as an inadequate indication of latency.

Imo, considering the nature of this game, and how huge the effects of lag can be on the gameplay, you'd be a fool not to look for whatever indication of latency you can to best judge what match to join, especially for ranked matches.

I've only joined a quick match once, just after I bought the game and completed the campaign, before I knew about XBL client bullet lag.

There are no "cheap" kills. It's your skill that's lacking when I pistol-whip, chainsaw, or frag tag yer ass. Suck it up and stop crying.
