Default [WIP] GOW Shotgun 3D model

Hey It took be about three hours to model this. It is not skinned yet so it is just all grey right now. Tell me what you guys think. Remember it isn't skinned. I need to do that part next.

It is free. If you go to "softimage.com" I THINK it is. You can download it for free. It does have other pro versions that are like 2000 bucks but this one is free. It is REALLY good but not very user friendly. It took me FOREVER to learn how to model in it. But word on the web says it has the best UV mapping tools.

I just learned online. A good site I went to was XSIBase.com They have video tutorials and I think a video is the best way to learn rather then reading text.

I skinned the model. Here is what it looks like so far.

I am probably going to import it to Counter-Strike Source and replace the normal shotgun with it.

I like it. It will be interesting for animators and people to use if this game ever gets into machinima.

Are you going to apply a bumb-map to it? That'll at least make it more real in the world of materials.

Yes it will be normal-mapped and maybe a slight specular to make it look interesting.

looking very sharp. Have any of you guys tried blender? If s, how do you like it. Ive been playing around with it and XSI and they are both pretty tricky.

Yeah, Blender is particularly temperamental. Once you get the hang of its whacked out interface, it'll be a breeze to use.
