What is Unreal Tournament? ive never heard of it. ive been playing ps2 forever but just got a 360. I have gears....does UT have any similarities to gears?

Same Engine and you can shoot. That's about it, I think.

UT (short for Unreal Tournament) is a fast paced multiplayer shooter with less emphasis on single player and storymode (although there will be more story than in the previous titles).
UT is NOT about hiding; it is about open, heated battles on foot or with one of the 18 vehicles.
