Anyone would think that Epic had done a terrible job with GOW with the amount of threads I keep seeing.

"The patch sucks"

"The maps suck"

"They should have done this"

"I wish you could do this"

yada yada yada.

I mean I'm all for the fans rule and all that, but I seem to see less and less people talking about how good the game is and tactics etc and more about how it could be better bla bla bla.

THIS IS THE BEST GAME OF 2006 PERIOD. Probably 2007 as well until the likes of Halo can compete with it. I can't even imagine how many people must have suddenly decided to take the plunge with a 360 once this game was released.

All I'm saying is, give props where they're due. Some of the suggestions and crap I read would just completely ruin the game, you gotta be realistic. Every time I play the game I’m in awe of what a masterpiece they’ve created for us. Show a little appreciation eh? I take my hat off to Epic, this game has single headedly ruined my relationship with my g/f lol.

Lol, yeah things have gotten way to hectic with people complaining on here. Sad thing is those of us who open up a post like this will either be attacked by all the people complaining and there goes the whole purpose of the post as it becomes full of complaints again. Or, they simply look at it, then move on and never post, meaning that the post dissapears a few hours later. So here is hoping this post stays on for a while, hats off Epic, you have made one great game and done one hell of a job in making the 360 what it is right now.

I agree with you 100%. I'm gonna go a step further and call it THE BEST GAME EVER MADE...literally. I'm 25 years old and I played this game for 10 hours str8 w/ my roommate a couple weeks ago...I havent done that with ANY game since I was in middle school. The environments/levels are no less than astonishing. PAY RESPECT WHEN RESPECT IS DUE. Just shows you what kind of horrible critics there are out there. There's no such thing as a perfect game but this is damn close. I'm especially sick of all the Stat Whores whining about their stupid ranked matches/lack of host bull$hit.

The game is amazing... I was just extremely let down when I hopped into MP to try out the acclaimed Gears of War multiplayer, and then discovering the hideous bullet lag in MP. It dropped a few pegs then, along with making me think: "How can a developer release a game where you don't actually aim at the enemy unless you're in near perfect network conditions?".

Game is the best I've EVER played, I don't care about the maps or anything, since the game is great already, and haven't even tried out the maps yet. I'm not angry at Epic, but I'm just waiting on the vga problem, and fully understand that these things happen. Some people have crossed the line tho.

---I agree. This is a very sad dimension of the game...hopefully they're working on it because I have a wireless connection and whenever Im playing a game that i'm not hosting I suffer from this. So I just host games, this is the 1 way to get around it.

ya this game is the best i've ever played lol... but i mean the only problems i have is the bullet lag and no host name. but even then it's still awsome. people are probably complaining about weapons over powered but they just suck maybe...

but bullet lag is in everygame. imo it isnt that horrible in this game. if it was really bad then i think the game would be all about luck, who has the better connection kinda thing. but i spend my time on gow hoping from one player match to the next on execution, and nearly every room i enter, i own. everyone has bullet lag in the match (host has much less..hate that mofo) so we are all facing the same obsticle. i can deal with it, and still deal as* wippings. best game ever made? pretty damn close, but halo still takes the cake. but this game is quite impressive, a whole new, very fresh shooter, with original gameplay. its a overwhelming break through if you truly think about what epic has created.

I bought the 360 only to play Gears of War...
The only game I own is Gears of War
and I absolutely love it...

---I thought a lot more older, mature people played this(vs Halo) so I didnt expect all this "I want gears perfect or I'm not done whining" on this site. I like Halo and have been playing it for, what seems like, forever but Gears is so much more tactical and strategic, whereas Halo is mindless chaos. MUCH MORE SKILL REQUIRED TO PLAY GEARS. I remember when I began playing Halo for the first few days, I would finish lower in the kills but I'd get plenty everytime...first few days of Gears I was getting owned all over the place...could barely get a kill.

You weren't wrong. I find it hard to comprehend that those people who have re-offended in this thread had such difficulty finding just 1 of the 5,000 intentional complaint/rant threads that are already on here.

IF I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT BULLET LAG I'D HAVE PICKED A THREAD THAT WAS ALREADY OPEN!!

I think there are a lot of people who just can’t/don't see what has been achieved with this game. There are so many good things about this game that for me at least, the good far outweigh the bad. I would play on this game all day and all night if I could. That is testament enough for me at what an achievement has been made here. This is true next-gen gaming and I feel privileged that Epic have produced this for us

Well I just gotta put my opinion in this so here it goes,

I am a striaght up MP gamer, I have well over 20,000 MP games played in HALO 2 and still to this day have not played more than the training on the single player. I bought GoW for the multiplayer but I was honestly disappointed when I couldn't invite ANY of my friends into a ranked match. I thought to myself how can a game based solely on TEAM COMBAT/STRATEGY not allow for a team to be put together and play another team.

No doubt Epic made a great game, I actually played and completed the single player, IMO it was short but GREAT. This game has such great potential but it seems like EPIC isn't doing much to address the MP Community, and if they are they sure as hell aren't letting anyone know anything about it. If they don't come out and say that are going to (and do) fix the MP aspects of this game people will STOP playing it COMPLETELY.

Just my opinion.

I think EPIC made a great game. I just don't want to see it fall by the wayside over some of these issues as other games are released. That's why I'm such an advocate of a MM system for ranked. It will give a great game staying power.

I am not saying the game sucks, or even trying to discredit Epic as a game developer. It's just that GoW suffers from bugs, glitches, and lag. The main thing I want fixed is lag, but they don't seem to be listening and it's really disheartening. They knock down Client-Side Hit Detection, they say Dedicated Servers aren't feasible. My God, they sold 3 million units, put out one patch, which from what I can see did more harm then good. I have been finding more and more bugs that weren't present until the patch released. And it's not just me saying it, many are.

I love GoW and is my favorite shooter by far, but come on Epic, show people GoW is the most played XBOX Live game. Show people you care more about your customers then the Un-Godly buck. The online portion of GoW suffers terribly; the amount of glitches, bugs, and bullet lag. The Lancer becomes almost useless in a laggy match unless the guy is either standing still or running straight for you.

I play every night with a buddy who lives in my city, and is on the same ISP. I still get bullet lag, but not nearly as much lag as 99% of the other matches I join. But it can still get pretty laggy depending on who joins. We have been having this one kid join, and his connection is so terrible that the Connection Error screen pops up like 30 times in one match (and ONLY when he joins).

Epic needs to start listening to us, the people who fund their development studio. If many people see the way GoW was handled with the online portion, then how many people are actually going to go out and purchase GoW 2 knowing how the original was? I know I won't, I'll have to rent it first. And it's such a shame, because GoW is such a good game. The only reason we b**ch about the game, is because we care about the future development of it. If we don't speak our minds the game will remain the way it is, with no improvements, no nothing. If we don't speak up then how will the game ever be fixed to a perfected status?

As it stands, it doesn't seem like Epic is listening to the majority of us. It's almost like they closed a blind eye. All we want is an official statement from Epic confirming whether or not the lag will be fixed, it's the main issue above all else (including a rank system, or bugs and glitches), lag needs to be addressed first!

P.S. I am not trying to bash anyone who likes Epic for releasing an awesome game. The majority of us are just trying to speak up and get the game fixed the way is was supposed to be before it shipped.

Wow...Snl. I thought I was pessimistic.
While I don't agree with everything that was impletmented in regards to the patch, I hardly think Epic has turned a blind eye to the gaming community in regards to GoW. I think just the fact that they released a patch, any patch, in such a short time from release date is admirable. Not to mention the maps. That tells me that they are listening...and more importantly....working.
That's why I intend to stay on these boards and let my "voice" be heard.

I'm exactly like one of the gamers CliffyB was referring to in his interview with EGM when asked about support for team ranked matches (MM System)....

My opinion is Epic made the best game I have ever played, single and multi player.

Epic in my opinion is a wonderful company.

They respond to legitimate requests, other game developers in other forums usually never respond to fans. Give Epic some respect and most of all be patient with the game. Its still a new game, they already gave us new content for FREE!!! RESPECT EPIC

It is a fantastic game, my favorite one EVER. But there are things that will make me smile bigger every time I play it...ranked matchmaking with my friends for example. I don't want to play player matches with my friends, I want competitive ranked matches with my friends. And since Halo 2 and Saint's Row had excellent matchmaking systems, I see no reason why a game that blows both of them away should have an inferior multiplayer infrastructure.

I am not saying Epic isn't a good company and don't respond to us. They just don't respond to us when it involves lag or CSHD. I have been on other forums, like 3D Realms when Prey was coming out. I have to say, 3D Realms is the worst company. Sure they replied to people who liked and played Prey, but when that god awful patch came out they just blatantly lied to everybody. The patch fixed lag, yada yada yada. The patch never fixed lag and did virtually nothing. So I traded Prey in because they refused to fix the lag correctly. That is why I am trying along with everyone else to get the game fixed, because I don't want it to end up like another Prey. The online is too good to let it go to waste.

I love the game, I just hate the way the multiplayer is presented. And I wish Microsoft didn't rush GoW for the holiday season, and allowed them to work on it. I bet had they not been rushed by MS, the game wouldn't have come out this year. I bet it would have been a spring release.

Well I dont know about you but I DO know that we wouldnt be talking right now and I wouldnt be playing the best game I've ever seen/played in my life right now.....I'm very happy they rushed to get it out. You can add to the game as you go(hence patch, new maps) so why not? I like my entertainment now

I don't know about you, but I would rather wait for a game to be 100% complete then get a game that was obviously un-finished (the bugs, glitches, and poor multiplayer setup). I would wait for any game if it's going to make it better. I was waiting for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess for over two and a half years. And when it got delayed a WHOLE YEAR, I never complained because I knew it was going to be better in the long run. When I finally popped it in my Wii it was gaming bliss, with virtrually NO BUGS to be found. Yet GoW was supposed to be bug free when it shipped, that turned out to be completely false. It has almost as many bugs as Morrowind when that first shipped (probably an exaggeration, but still has more bugs then any normal game would). It's because it was rushed.

By your logic, you would have been satisfied by the E3 build back two years ago. At least you would have been playing it.

In no way am I putting the game down. It just has many flaws that wouldn't have been present given more development time. Not to mention the single player portions that were inevitably cut due to being rushed. I would rather take my soup hot then cold thank you.

See what I meant, the post went from a few people giving props to Epic into people once again saying "I like it . . . but here are the dozen or so issues I have with it." It is sad that people can't just say "Hey Epic good job, these are the things I LIKE that you did." That is all it takes and yet they have to ruin what could have been a great post to hear people talk about what they enjoy on the game and maybe get a laugh and smile remembering funny, jaw dropping or ecstatic moments people got playing. Too bad my prediction was dead on I was hoping it wouldn't be.

Yes...the game is great. Yes...I love it.

But man...it's not like implementing LC or CHD (like EVERY OTHER FREAKIN GAME OUT THERE DOES) is rocket science at this point.

If it was tricky or some fancy new technology, then I'd say ok...maybe not...but leaving out LC or CHD is like buying a porsche that doesn't have a steering wheel.

We know that but this post was made to mention what you LIKE about the game, not the normal complaints. People can't seem to focus on the good for even one damn thread. We all want **** to be fixed, but come on people, one thread, just one thread mentioning what you like about the game, just what you like. I think Epic deserves at least that for what they aspired to do and what they did accomplish.

I agree, I love tactical shooters and this is the best one that I have played beside GRAW. I only wish that the glitches could get fixed so that, we could continue using tactics instead of getting shot through a 4 foot thick pillar!

What's wrong with this game is much more important than what's right with it, at the moment.

Epic knows they made a great game, sales back that up.

If anything, they should also be proud people are constantly complaining about the negative side of things, because that means the players care enough to take time and come here and tell them whats up.

If I bought an incredibly crappy game and it had the same problems GoW did I would just return it.

I hear what you're saying, but I honestly feel that lack of LC or CHD ruined this game for me. I'm ALL about the multiplayer experience (I haven't even beaten the game in single player mode) and no matter how wonderful the game looks and moves...the fact that it lags like it does, is unbearable to me.

I honestly don't see hardcore players sticking around for too long. I believe eventually, everyone will get fed up and resort to trying to host and there will come a time when no one's game will fill up in a timely manner because everyone will want to host and no one will want to join.

well, to be honest, at first, all tehr was on this board was raves about it, how awesome it was, but now, since people have gotten over the initial shock of how great it is, people are finding the MAJOR flaws in multiplayer mostly, things that were included in much inferior games, but werent included(and are damn well needed) in the "best game ever made" Dont get me wrong, i love this game, and will continue to play it single player, but i cant handle how poorly the MP is set up right now, and am gunna stick to COD3(an excellent MP game if ur lookin for a good, fun time) until i hear of it gettin fixed.
