Anyone have more than 3 friends?

I've been reading all of these threads by individuals complaining that they can no longer play with their friends because they can't find each other in Ranked and there are too many quitters in Player matches (Even player matches with the occasional quitter aren't that big of a deal anymore because the mic glitch has been fixed.). What is stopping you from getting together with 5 or 7 friends for 3v3 or 4v4?

Then you'll have the best of all worlds: Friends, communication, similar skill levels (or it doesn't matter), abilty to rearrange the teams if necessary to make it fair, an environment for good-natured taunting, etc...

I, for one, have a total of 10 friends who play GoW. The thing is, they are not all on at the same time, mostly only 3 or 4 of them are on with me. But we all play together often, both as a team of 4 agains random people, and as a game of friends.

The reason we do not like this idea of friend games is the fact that we don't often want to play against each other. We enjoy working together, we know what each of our jobs are in the group-of-four.

If we play against each other, we know exactly what the others are going to do, and can easily counter it. We prefer not knowing what our enemy is planning.

Well I would hope that they might change their strategy at some point if you are easily countering them.

Well yes, but we each have our strong suit, each have an in-game strategy we enjoy playing, and are better at than any other. We'd prefer not to have to do things that would make it harder for us. We like winning, we like using our best tactics.

What we need, really, in a clan based, or team based ranked system of games. That way we play against other groups of strong people, can use our strategies, and then everyone will be happy.

In fact, I can guarantee that if they made a Team Ranked Match setting in Gears, 96% of all complainers on all the forums in all the Internets will be silent. I'd stake my soul on it.

But what if we want achievements, Mendoza? We do, we like striving for achievements. It gives us a goal in our gaming other than to simply beat the living snot out of our opponents, which, although good fun, can also be very annoying. So having achievements to be obtained keeps up the enjoyment.

Which is why we need Team Ranked, and heck, Team Unranked too!

Next reason: Player Matches go like this: 4v4. We kill them all once, 1 of them leaves because he can't handle the fact that in one instance we are better then him. So the remaining 3 try, but fail to beat us, so they get discouraged, and all leave as well. End result: Frustration and anger for us.

Player Matches are for fun if you want to beat a bunch of nubs easily. You don't play it if you want a challenge.

Me personally, I play GoW with a couple friends ( that i know in person) so of course playing this game online with them is fun.

Not only do I like playing with my friends but i also like playing a game competitively, in other words being ranked according to how i play.

OMG lets combine these two.....playing in a ranked game, and playing with my also competitive friends....now we have a group of friends simply having fun online....you get rid of either of them and it's only half the fun. Why ruin something like that.

Maybe to make everyone happy a clan ranked server would be nice...but come on...I'm not into this game that much to join/create a clan of only 2-3 members just so we can play in ranked games...that is simply retarded, because when we want to play a simple game instead we now need to organize a duel against another clan and not only that but we all have to be playing at the same time.....and with our busy schedules w/ basketball, jobs, etc that simply is more annoying than fun.

This is a team based game ( which is why it's 4v4 rather than 20v20) and basically taking out the team element ( unless if you luckily get grouped with a smart team) in this game just makes it a run and gun shooter....

I don't have an issue with people disagreeing with me but what MS/Epic needs to do is look at the larger community.....which includes people that like how it originally was

TrueSkill on the Xbox 360 is a skill-based ranking system that is used across all games. It involves the user playing ranked games against other players, with the results used to update the skill level estimates of those involved. For each game, a user has two hidden statistics: an estimated skill level, and an uncertainty factor. As a player continues to play further matches of the same title, the system revises the estimated skill level and decreases the uncertainty factor. As the uncertainty in the estimate decreases, the estimated level moves up or down by a smaller amount with each successive match. The eventual goal is to exactly determine the level of the player, i.e. his or her "true skill level".
When matchmaking, the system attempts to match individuals based on their estimated skill level. If two individuals are competing head-to-head and have the same estimated skill level with low estimate uncertainty, they should each have roughly a 50% chance of winning a match. Good news,

THe 1st amendment only protects your speech from infringement by the federal government. THe 14th amendment Due Process Clause, via incorporation doctrine, prevents state government from resrticting free speech.

Bad news,

Epic is neither federal or state government, and could ban your speech as a private entity in a private forum for any reason, including ______ (fill in the blank with anything)____.

I hope you were joking. Otherwise, if you really care about your rights then I suggest you learn more about them. Then you might understand why no lawyer would ever take your case.
