I bought gears of war a while ago i played it on casual so i could get the feel for it, i beat it in 5 hours so the next day i played insane it took me 10 hours tops to beat it. can any1 honestly say this is a good game when the campaign is 5 hours long to some one who has never played it but that beside the point. i read about how this is the greatest action game ever. but it has nothing new they stole the skin for the gear from star craft, the marines, they stole there ENTIRE cover based gameplay from Kill Switch, the helmets from final fantasy, there is 0 innovation wat so ever at all none the boss fights are even stupid. and the graphics lack any sort of realism wat so ever beyond the fact that they look pretty. F.E.A.R.'s graphics are 10 x more sophisticated. so someone please explain to me why this game deserves game spots game of the year, or let alone any recognition at all

.PS if u say the or think the co op in this game worth mentioning you are wrong its the same as halo 2 u play through the entire game - the retarded chose path system

In kill swith, all you did was taking cover by going next to the cover and shoot regularly or blind fire. Gears of war is a little different you know

I could bring up comparisons of Monolith's engine for FEAR and UE3, but I'm too lazy right now, I'm sure you can find that on your own.
The innovative thing about the cover system isn't the fact that there's a cover system, it's how it was implemented. The ease of it using only one button to do nearly everything in the game is what most people rave about.
StarCraft Marine? Ehh, only vaguely.

Actually, Marcus more closely resembles Epic's own Cannonball from UC Ut2k3/4: http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/617...ernautsed7.jpg They're nowhere near bulbous and oversized enough to be Starcraft rip-offs.
What do you think Co-op is? You play through PS with a buddy, that's what it's always been.

Obviously any game that has humans in battle suits to protect them in battle is just stealing the idea from StarCraft.

FEAR was an awful game. Hands down. If EVERYTHING was based off of Starcraft, I would have ample reason to kill myself then, wouldn't I?

yea i doubt you've played this game. you probably looked at screenshots in a magazine and saw the pixalized images because thats what screenshots look like most of the time. and what do you expect from co-op you idiot? you play through campaign with a friend. wtf would you do? kill each other? damn. and try online. best online gameplay ever. go back to the crap you call a game halo2.
