Remember in Act one where they find some CoG.. remains, and Carmine throws the geobot down the tunnel, is that the same one that at the beginning in Act 4? I ask because the way the camera followed it, seemed like they made a big deal out of it.

But yes, a lot of people noticed that, there are supposed to be a lot of Geobots and originally the devs wanted you to collect Geobots, not cog tags but that was changed because Geobots were harder to see. The odds of it being the same Geobot is hard to say.

there is a geobot right next to the imlsion lake on the end of act 3.
-when you start it just stick on the left side, when your "lava" walk goes right, in the corner there is a geobot

GeoBots. Heh. Anyways, the geobots are common, and I would assume the bot that Carmine had was just a general use one. I think the #3 explanation is pretty good.

I believe I've found AT least 5 other geobots throughout the game, most of them in the Imulsion mines. The reason this geobot in the cutscene with Carmine receives so much emphasis is probably because all along the squad believes that the Resonator is the answer they're looking for, but when that fails a single geobot saves the day. "Is that the resonator?" -"Nah..." is a couple of lines that afterwards become kinda funny, knowing that the same kind of device Carmine threw away had a clue to all the data they needed the resonator for.
