    Default Interesting stuff about Carmine(spoilers)

First off i wanted to say hi, im new to the boards in terms of posting but ive been reading posts for about a month or 2 now.

Ok on to the topic. i was reading how a lot of people were calling Carmine a red-shirt or basically a guy made just to get killed. Well i was in my English class the other day and instead of doing work was flipping through the dictionary. For some reason i was in the CAR- section and i stumbled upon carmine. Turns out carmine means "A strong to vivid red"

    http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/carmine

so now it defintley looks like Carmine was put in there just to die, with his name meaning the color red. Hope this isnt old. Thought that it was pretty interesting.

Sucks that Carmine's nothing but a bullet magnet, he has the coolest armor of the bunch, and that ' It's jamming..SEE? BOOM ' moment is just overkill ):

indeed. someone should set up a freakin' fansite for the guy. give him something to die for. or at least delve into his charactor.

Carmine looks kinda Kill Zoneish, his helmet looks sick. As far as playing Carmine in the sequel, there'd probably be an act devoted purely to making him die haha.

    LOL X'D.

Heck i wouldn't doubt they'll make him the reason this whole war started, Epic should've let him live a little bit longer.

a little ot, but since this thread started with someone noticeing a play on words, has anybody else noticed the symbolism in the government being called the CoG and soldiers being called gears? It's the cog that turns the gears.

I'm pretty sure most players have already figured that out by now.

As for Carmine being in the sequel/prequel, I think he's actually supposed to be just fresh from the military academy, essentially still a teenager. That would explain the youthful voice and how he got his gun jammed and turned to Kim for help. This is something a kid usually does if he can't figure out how to fix/do something, they turn to the authority figure or the person they trust can help them solve the problem.

You can see how Kim is just sort of impassive about Carmine's problem up until the kid gets a bullet through his skull. I figure it's a self reliance thing, since the GoW universe is a tough place to live and grow up in. If you can't fix it yourself, then your survival time in the field starts dropping faster than it was.

So, Carmine is in my opinion, fresh from basic when we first see him. It's why he thinks meeting Marcus is 'cool' aside from all the COG smokescreen and fabrications that have been put up around the guy's trial. It's why he gets his gun jam and looks for help to fix it, and it's ultimatly why he wears the mask. People usually don't like seeing young people die, especially when the victim has his brains skewered with a bullet.

Yeah I was almost heartbroken when I saw the little guy die. Made me sad. But I suppose you had to make room for loud ass Baird and the Cooooooooooole train. He has the most kick ass gear though no doubt about it. Hes always my MP character.

Okay, I hate to say this... because I know what I'm saying is essentially stamping a big "flame me" sign on my forehead.

But I can't stand Carmine. He looks like a eff'ed up stormtrooper rip off. Sorry.

well at the Academy he was voted most likely to get shot, so it shows he was either the most reckless or the dumbest cadet there

Are you kidding me!?! I mean I like Carmine as much as the next guy, but giving him something to die for!? What about Kim? Epic just killed him off and left it at that. Atlest Carmine got a clone- I mean brother in Gears 2!

Tim would get impaled on a spike or something, don't push it.

Anthony Carmine's death is one of the most memorable deaths in gaming. Not official yet, but if you think about it, everybody remembers Carmine's "JAM POP" scene. People who know nothing about Gears talk about Carmine's death. People are always talking about his death. Like, seriously. And he has the most threads of all the characters.

I say, if you can't kill Carmine, who can you kill?
I came up with the Bag 'N Tag idea. No really, check the date. (proof)

Nah dude, we have already known this for awhile now. And the reason Epic did that is because there was no point in making a seperate face for a character that was going to be killed off.
