    Lightbulb new multiplayer game modes ideas....

    here is something from the xbox.com forums that somebody posted up for there own ideas. the credit goes to K2Valor


    BESERKER
    This can be described as juggernaut, except you are a HUGE beserker that is blind. Heres how it works.

    RULES
    There is only one beserker
    Maximum 4 people against one beserker
    Beserker only looses health if the hammer of dawn beam is near him
    Beserker has 'stamina' so he cannot run the whole time trying to get kills

    HOW IT WORKS
    If you are the beserker, your screen is very blurry. You can still navigate, but it is very hard to see physical objects
    If a human makes a noise your screen turns less blurry and you can see easier
    If the human is next to you, you can see an outline of him ( You are 'smelling' him )
    The object for the beserker is to kill the oppossing Gears.
    The object for the Gears are to kill the beserker.

    Who doesn't think that would be awesome?


    Heres a map that was my personal idea:

    DARKNESS ( not sure what the map name should be )
    This is a map where teamwork is necessary, and there is only one power weapon

    LAYOUT
    This map is basic. Symmetrical on both sides, but there is a twist. Both sides have a two story building with a spotlight on top of it. Both 'bases' are fully lit, but there is a darkness gap in between them.
    This map has kryll activated. If you go into the darkness and get killed by kryll, it counts as a suicide.
    The sniper is in the middle of the darkness, far away from reach without getting killed by kryll.

    HOW IT WOULD WORK
    Both teams start out on there base. One person would go to the spotlight and he would be the guider, and guide teammates through the darkness. The spotlight is big enough for two people to stick close together, but no more than that. In the darkness there is tons of cover, so the spotlight guy could guide a teammate to that and keep the spotlight in that area so the person can take someone out. If you try to guide a teammate to the sniper he is left in the open, and it should only be used if the enemy is heavily suppressed. The sniper, however, is key because you can fall back to base and snipe the spotlight person from afar.

    This map would require teamwork and cooperation, and if it was made right it could be awesome.

    Love the Darkness map idea, the beserker one could be fun if done right I suppose.

    Here is my map idea. Me being a big fan of Tyro station, i think it would be quit kool to play on a moving map.
     
    such as the train in chapter 5

    And you could press X to kick people off the edge of the train, sending them to there doom. You could only kick them if they are close to the edge of the train.

    Just thought that would be a cool map idea.

    Berzerker looks sick!
    So....anyone hear of a game called Gears of War 2? Its supposed to be really cool, but I dont know...

    -chainsaws (lancers w/o ammo and nothing else on map)
    -pistols
    -torque bows
    -snipers

    I'm all for the "berserker" mode you mention, funnily enough i mailed Mr B a similar idea on the 31st October:-

    "Regarding the multiplayer portion of GoW; have you considered a Far Cry "Predator" style gametype?
    Picture a mid to higher tier locust enemy played by a human chosen at random in the pregame lobby, whose sole mission is to rid his new found post-apocalyptic home from any of the 4 to 8 players left (playing as the meth head army guys).

    Obviously it'd be a bit of a challenge making the super locust [berserker as Fenix suggests] enjoyable to play as, let alone gameplay mechanics, but i feel this gametype could excel in GoW much more than it did in FC.

    Then again, no doubt this goes against your vision for GoW as a whole. I know you didn't want bog standard DM or CTF, but thought this might be a little different. Either way, let me know what you think of it."

    Fenix sums up this idea far better and at much greater length, but this goes to show there's more than a few of us who'd like some other gametypes.

    I noticed that the Beserker seems to know where you are going to run sometimes. so maybe give it a 'snort' or stomp to sendout a sonar-esque ping to temporarily clear up the screen.


    Come on people! lets try and flesh out these suggestions maybe if the threads are popular and filled with intelligent suggestion it might catch Epic's eye and inspire something.

    I like the darkness map Idea as well. its unique but the execution of it would probably be something far from desireable. its also a departure from what the game is.

    It changes the game from up close carnage to hiding in buildings praying for a headshot. Maybe .... a generator that you protect to keep the lights on in your base? it could be something you have to charge up the odd time, like the lights dim and a few brave kryll start divebombing your positions.

    The Darkness idea seems iffy.The micless people would have trouble communicating,and if the Darkness map requires alot of teamwork they would not be able to communicate.Making teamwork very difficult.
