Default Devices disabling after level starts

    Hello all,

I've been trying to solve this problem for some time. I've looked in the forums but I can't seem to find anything which solves this problem.

My USB sound stops working just after the level starts. I hear the little Windows "USB device unplugged" sound and then the "USB Device plugged in" sound, and then the sound stops entirely. I can go in to settings->sounds and change any setting which will reinitialize the sound and it comes back.

Recently, I purchased a Bluetooth mouse. Now I find that the mouse does exactly the same thing the sound is doing - it works fine up until the level starts, then I hear the Windows sounds, then it stops suddenly. I have to go into Windows and re-discover the mouse in order to get it working again.

    Here are my specs:

    Dell Inspiron E1705
    Core Duo 1.66Ghz
    2GB 667Mhz Dual-Channel DDR2
    100GB 7200RPM hard drive
    GeForce 7800 Go 256MB PCIe
    Creative Live! 5.1 USB
    Logitech V270 BT Mouse
    Windows XP SP2

Latest drivers for everything, UT2004 patch 3369. What the heck is wrong with my machine? I don't have this problem with any other application or game. Please help!

I forgot one more thing: After I get the sound and mouse working again, it's fine for the rest of the level. Then, once the next level starts, it happens all over again. No sound, no mouse. Thanks in advance!

Okay, a friend of mine and I made a little headway on this. If I disable the "USB2 Enhanced Host Controller" in the device manager, everything is fine, except of course, only USB 1.1 is available. This is apparenly some sort of incompatibility between UT2004 and the Intel USB chipset on my motherboard.
