    Default not writting to serverlog

first, i checked the FAQ, and searched unrealadmin and these forums, but could not find anything answering my question.
which is: recently, our server provider switched from linux to windows, and gave us a fresh, empty server to recreate our olds settings and maps as close to the origional as possible (they did start off with the UT2004.ini instaed of the server.ini, but i don't think that matters). problem is, information is no longer being written to the serverlog.ini; no map error messages, no player name/join times. is there something in the UT2004.ini that needs to be changed/added? or is this handled by a seperate file?

Check your command line, it may contain something like: log=server.log
Just when you thought it was safe to pick up the soap.
