I hope they make a plug-in for UE3 (probably already done), and release a new PLE with UT07!
I loved having a version of Maya at my fingertips!

Stick the old Plugins into 7.0 PLE and you will see the UT2007 version of Malcom's face.

Info on some websites is saying that now Autodesk bought out Alias the PLE version is being dropped, and the final PLE release is the current Maya 7 PLE so if it is true then just download the PLE 7 and get the new maya PLE 7 plugin for it off UDN and be good to go.and release a new PLE with UT07!![]()
Autodesk Maya
Autodesk 3dsmax
Just some links for peeps if anyones interested, the new version of max looks so sweet. The difference in the viewport framerates is supposedly atleast 3x better.

I hate that program!
Gmax is already dead... Maya PLE isn't. They are implementing code to allow them to pull the plug last I checked, but they're not using it.Originally Posted by Gregori

Hmmz just found this on the Unreal wiki: http://wiki.beyondunreal.com/wiki/Gmax
Apparently there waiting for vista for the next release. Should be good, perhaps after vista is released there will be a version of 2k7 that ships with it.
The reason that Epic went with Maya PLE the first time was because of something like Autodesk charging alot for giving Epic the priviledge of writing exporters for it -I forget fully, but it was something to do with cost of gmax over PLE (i'm you can find the full info on the web).
Since Autodesk now own Maya, I'd wonder whether the fees they charged for gmax will be charged on MayaPLE, however if UT2007 was always planned to ship a version of PLE it may well be they already signed a deal to get PLE included at a fixed rate like they did for UT2k3/4, but maybe it will be Maya7PLE, and won't include any updated PLE versions between now and the games release, but who knows![]()
You know you guys could always dl it from Autodesk's website![]()
And for those who think Autodesk is discontinuing the PLE:
Taken from the PLE FAQsQ: Is Autodesk discontinuing Maya PLE?
A: No. Autodesk reviews each new commercial release of Maya to determine if the PLE will be updated to reflect the new functionality found within the commercial release. Historically, Maya PLE has not always been updated at the release of a new commercial release. As of this time there are no plans to discontinue Maya PLE.
