Exclamation GUI Suggestion for Game Developers here at EPIC

When i heard that UT 2007 is in production, the first thing that popped into my mind (i really don't know why) was the GUI design, especially the menus.

I am no artist but i've got some great ideas for the game menus.

3-D game menus that show what the unreal engine is made of even before the player starts the game.

With the windows being 3-D objects with hologram-type and neon effects...

I am REALLY looking forward to seeing that tipe of menus in UT 2007 because i personally think that it will be a groundbreaking game.

    Something like this http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/...ect/media.html.

Look at the official movie 1 in the movies section.

Like that galaxy map that appears later in the movie...

That type of menu would be AWESOME!!!

    But totally 3D!!!

Naaah, I rather save my Memory resource for Slipstream loading to run faster. The game intro during start is good enuf for me, thank you(Epic) to even make the intro.
Some mods already have 3D main menus, some even have bots running around in them.

that is cool an all but i prefer the least system taxing menu possible. Get things done faster that way.

Agreed. UWindows worked. The dire GUI in UT2004 was a mess, along with most of the game tbh.

I don't care how they make the GUI as long as it looks good and loads fast

Yeah, that's why we need to wait for 2 or 3 minutes for beautiful all 3D menu, with ****ty functionality?

    My thoughts:
    - An ability to access certain menus even from instant action/join game, f.e. Player appearance/name menu, like it was done in CTF4 mod.
    - If it is possible, allow some kind of menu themes, like it was possible with UWindows
    - more resizable menus.

First of all, i would want a snappy good looking version of UWindows.

IF they would do a 3D one it would be pretty cool to just use a PowerCore that you could rotate the Plates on with the mouse and let the Plates be the menuchoices.

Isn't it most important that you can get every setting done as fast as you want? without editing your inis? From this point of view the UT2004 menu worked. I wouldn't mind UWindows as well but its just a cosmetical thing to me, nothing important. So I can't understand the trouble you all seem to have with the GUI of UT2007....

Maybe its gonna look like UT99, maybe its more UT2004, maybe its something totally different.. I don't really care as long as it works. Don't judge a game like this...

Hmm, I would rather have Epic do in-game play GUI better.
