    Default Modling in UT2007

I have heard that UT2007 editor will be able to produce its own 3D models without having to use a 3D application. If this is true it would make map editing so much easier and faster. It would be nice though to have some real official information about it.

    Yeah, that's just speculation.

you can't do any advanced 3d modeling in the Ued....

..if anything, you'll be using more external programs such as Zbrush, to create high detail normal maps.

maybe you can still convert brushes to statics... but that's not really useful or new.

Wow I hadn't heard about the inclusion of an inbuilt modeling program. If this is true it's great news.

    it's not true.

all developers use external programs such as max and maya and Zbrush, therefore they have no need to develop one within Ued.

Well Ut2004 shipped with a free version of maya so they might have some deal with them again which includes building direct maya control into the editor.

why should they do that if they could also just ship 2k7 with a free maya version again ?

i dont think there is any maya-sdk which developers could built into their own programs.

    Red face

I have max 7. I'm just hoping they don't change the presse on importing a model/mesh into the editor. But I have a feeling there will be a plungin this time around, there’s bound to be added properties that will need to be brought over from max to UnrealED…
