    It is not that painfull...

There will still be an option to run the game in low detail, Epic mentioned that already. So you can turn off all additional graphic effects like it is in UT2004 and UT99 as well...

Yes, but mine pain is bigger. Why? Coz a month ago i bought entire new PC (config in the signature), im don't have any cash, and i'm starting to think about upgrading my PC. I guess the mainboard is the most weak element...). I have no idea what i gonna do, if UT2k7 won't run on my PC... :[

You dont have to be able to run it from the very first time it comes out, UT2007 will be alive and running for several years I think before you will miss out on it. You will have plenty of time to upgrade, whether it takes you until it comes out or even a few months after its been out.

Besides Epic always seems to optimize there games very well, I'm sure running ut2007 wont be as big of a fit as what most people see it as. And even if it is, I will be able to run it on highest settings

I remember being registered on INA for about 4 months, being the only 2K3 player hanging about, and worrying because I couldn't upgrade my PC at the time.

I also remember how embarassed I was when I tried the 2K4 demo, and found out it ran just as well as 2K3 did, it was simply my worrying that was causing the worrying..

My current PC hasn't got much (if anything) over yours, a s-939 A64 3500 sat in an asrock dual sata mobo (the pic-e and agp slotted one), a gb of pc4000 ram in dual channel and an ageing 256mb rad x700 agp card, and I still hope to get some GGs in when the new demo shows, and upgrade later on - once the community has gotten a really good handle on what the reqs are, what parts you really need to go to town on, & what you can afford to skimp on, etc..

    the alternative is called: PS3
and while a lot of people will tell you its better to play on the PC (myself included) its an option that will allow you to enjoy the game to some extent, while you build up your next rig, which will definetly cost a lot more than a the PS3, keep in mind a decent video card nowadays costs $500-600, and thats only one component you need for a new PC.

and well, you get to have a next generation gaming console that will bring you a lot of joy from a lot of great games in development that are exclusively for the PS3.

and like i said, its only a video card, then we have the Motherboard, CPU, Sound Card (optional as most boards have one built in), RAM, Hard Drive/s, CD/DVD rom, Cooling, case (you can always recycle your old case tho)

well i think he miss understood my comment as well, what i mean was, a video card/cards is just one of the many components needed for a new PC, does that make sense now ?

edit: BFG doesnt fall far from that price range either, 400-500 for a single GPU card, so basically you will still get what you pay for. so if you want the best its going to cost you.

Ok... but my computer specs listed below are prolly still too low

    • 640 MB RAM
      128 MB ATI 9100
      2.8 GHz Pentium 4

However, at a maximum of five months after UT2007's release I should be getting a fine new machine.

Lol, I stopped keeping up with hardware a long time ago, and if this quote is accurate then my behavior seems justified.

500-660 bucks for just a video card, to even begin "keeping up with the Jones'"?

Lol, that's just absurd. If that's the case, then "keeping up" is flat-out stupid.

Based on Epic's track record of scalability, I imagine anyone that can run UT2004 at medium-high to high settings will be fine on lower resolutions with all the DX9 candy turned on. Additionally Epic has stated full support for DirectX 10 (DX10 hardware and Windows Vista required of course) for when we do upgrade to new Cards.

Hm. It shouldnt be too taxing.
Unreal engine three has the technology to reduce the drag on your system with... uh.. I've forgotten the technical term... basically it means showing extrememly detailed skins, based on extremely high-poly models, shown on low poly models, giving the impression of fantastic graphics, at not a lot of system drag... Still, an upgrade couldnt hurt.

keep in mind that you can build a nice rig that can do 32049280938204382403284802384032820348823094284923 848934803842093890384384082034209348 things more than a console can for only $300-400 more.

and console hardware is crap. the xbox (1) uses a geforce 3 with a p3 700mhz cpu. that stuff ain't worth the $130 an xbox sells for these days.

I dunno about the 360/PS3's components, but i know for a fact that in less than 1 year the hardware will be obsolete.
