There will be no bombing run in UT2007, because this game mode wasn't popular.

Although it was the best gametype i ever played
it just rocked! Sad that people just didn't wanne give br of ibr a shot!
Lots of people just coudn't handle the translocator, and that why they didn't liked br of ibr with trans (wich was played in ut2003 and start of ut2004 still enough!)...

Bombing run never worked because some people just didn't like it or it took too much team work to succeed (just like double domination). Face it, you can't rely on most people who play in public servers. The only way those two would work would be in a clan, so everyone knows each other (to some extent, might not work with "fun clans" like KvW) and will listen to advice/tactics.

I played a BR map with vehicles earlier, the bomb does get treated like the flag, you can even fire the weapons in the vehicle without dropping the ball or anything like that.

As long as the BR maps aren't converted CTF maps, and the bombs actually blow up then I will definitely play any BR mod for UT2007.

imo it was a very good decision to slim gamemodes down. ut2003/2004 did split the players in too many tiny groups because it had so many different ways to be played, leading to a relativly small number of players per gamemode.

Personally, I hated Bombing Run because the bots in that gametype were utterly inadequate. Sure, they were no better in CTF, but at least in CTF you (a) had a weapon to fight enemy bots with and (b) were running away from enemy spawns, rather than towards them (that is to say, even if you singlehandedly kill the entire enemy team you would continue to encounter them as you progressed towards the goal).

With humans I enjoy the gametype, but good luck getting people into it without a good singleplayer experience to draw them in.
