No, if they add the ripper I want both in. The Bio Rifle is another Unreal exclusive weapon, there is no reason to put it out. Also, its quite effective in good hands, you greatly underestimate the weapon's ability.
The ripper is another unreal exclusive weapon, and I think it was a mistake to put it out. It simply wasn't good enough to stand against the other weapon in UT, but it could be balanced in some way.

I want both. I can’t believe they dropped the ripper. I really hope it comes back.
Huh, WTF, the Ripper is HS? Surely, you can't be referring to the original UT Ripper.Originally Posted by DrDoomed

As for the Ripper, CUT2 has the C.U.T.T.E.R. which works very well. And I'm pretty sure RFLAGG and Co will produce a Chaos mod for UT2007 (one can hope anyway).
Very True all of UT's weapons can get the job done in the right hands.Originally Posted by Crotale

Both plz.![]()
I always loved the ripper.
You touch my goop or my shock and I will hurt you!
The ripper making a comeback would be nice though. The thing is it won't be as extreme as in UT. You can't really have such a weapon(the spammiest thing ever) anymore. Just like you can't have rocket launchers launching 6 rockets, sniper rifles HSing on 1/3 top of the body with super high RoF, or other too powerful weapons of UT. And a modern version could still be a good addition to the arsenal though.
What I always wanted was a shock/ripper hybrid. The primary would shoot the usual shock beam. But instead of a shock core, the secondary would shoot a spinning energy disc affected by gravity (maybe being able to HS would be too powerful, but it should do decent damage). It would be able to bounce once and shooting it with the primary would create a shock combo. This would be the most kickass weapon ever.![]()
Yes, he is. The original UT Ripper can headshot other players(even yourself I think)Originally Posted by Crotale

Bio 'g00gun' Rifle is my fave weapon since UT... nothing more satisfying than bombing a green blob on an unsuspecting sucker

the ripper was fun but never a fave... it was great on maps like ctf-Deathfan though.

They are both equally random weapons. At least with goo you can do some speed/jump increasing tricks.Originally Posted by Spaz

bio for me
I voted both, but I like the bio better. Especially in 2k4 you can do lots of cool jumps.. The bio prim is *kinda* worthless except when you use it immediatly after launching a fully charged 2ndary. Then it is good because you can control your enemy's movement even more
I would like them to add the ripper back, but not get rid of the bio rifle. In UT the ripper was really fun to use because if you suspect an enemy behind a corner you can shoot the razor blades that will bounce off the walls each time. the only problems with the ripper i think is it was too weak, if an enemy gets too close to you i'd use the more powerful secondary attack but that would take even 4 or 5 hits to kill them, and for trying to get a headshot you would have to aim for the tip of their hair or higher, because if you aimed at the head the gun would just fire blow it.
The Chaos UT2004 ripper looked and feeled really good

The BioRifle and the Ripper alike are trap weapons - instead of forcing your opponent to dodge your projectile directly, they must dodge it from somewhere you are not. With good aim and knowledge both weapons can be used well to trap your opponent to dead. It may seems easy to dodge the little blob on the ground or the ripper's rebound, but with good user, it isn't.
So its all how you can use both weapons' special and unique advantages that makes someone an impressive killer or a pathetic fighter. In all honesty, using them effectively is not easy, but completely possible, at a point they do can match other weapons. However, they are both better in closed places, open place like torlan make these weapons really bad (good reason why torlan doesn't have bio).
But UT99's bio was bad, projectiles too slow. UT2004's bio's shots travels faster and make it more effective.

Cool, cheers, ill give them a go next time on on UC2.Originally Posted by Jake-SF

Right now the biorifle functions as a crappy altfire-only flak cannon with a single redeeming feature of being able to single-shot a stacked player in 1on1.
The goo should stick around longer so that it can actually be used as a minefield. Like 30 seconds or something. Then it would present some alternative usage.
I voted Bio. Then I saw the both option...I WANT BOTH! Headshots were so fun to do around corners in Deck16...

Yeah , i am really hoping that the CanGun is cool and not too gimmicky. i love the Bio and really hate losing it. but im keeping hope alive for the CanGun that its a cool replacement. i did like the CannisterGun in Unreal2 (mostly because of the different grenades it offered, gas/incendiary etc. so if it works similar in ut2007 i might be able to learn to love the Can Gun...
Just hoping they don;t change the Biosludge portion of it much from what it is now.
