Does Anyone know the official release date for Gears of War?

^^^ I sincerely doubt that date is correct. Game retailers usually give customers overly optomistic guesses about release dates, just to push preorders. Magazines and websites usually won't stretch the truth quite as much, but they will sometimes just give out a guess. Developers and publishers usually give out the most accurate info, but delays could still happen.

Another thing is that for whatever reason, you usually don't see a lot of games coming out in Febuary, but there is a rush in March. Note how in March of last year three major PC FPS (Far Cry, UT2K4, Battlefield) were released after months of no significant releases. I guess it could come out in Feb. but I don't think that's likely at all.

So, in regards to release dates, I wound't even bother listening to any release date other than the one the developer gives, in this case Spring '05. Even then, I wouldn't seriously believe it until I hear that the game has gone gold.
