    "Desperate was I, and deeper I delved
    Into the forbidden and profane.
    My lust for wealth began to sublimate
    Into murderous perversions of flesh and hate.
    So many innocents I partook from the village...

    Gilles de Laval de Rais, a 15th century Frenchman, is thought to be the precursor to the
    modern day serial killer. "The Pious Monster" was an aristocrat, a soldier and a raper,
    torturer and killer of many innocent children.

    Sweet it played nice, the setting fits the mood to a tee, a true work of art. Ha fell through the hole in the floor on one of my runs just didn't see it,lol And the Double Damage nice placement. Weapon placement good, but a bit heavy at the catacomb jump pad.

    I think some fog would have tied the visuals together a bit better, but other than that it's great.

    There's a pretty high level of ambient light with no discernible source. It'd look even better with less ambient and more directional light.

    Old school but great map, i really enjoyed the layout and the atmosphere...
    Nice skybox...but dont hesitate to NOT compress these textures next time

    Good! For a second there I was wondering whether it was good or not to look UT99
    Anyways, the blocking stuff you mentioned was done on purpose to keep movement at it's best and stickyness minimal. Imagine passing by those mentioned things during a heated firefight, you'd rather have full mobility and a steady cam rather than bumping into everything that's been layed out for deco
    Thanks for the concern though, but the lack of collision was fully intentional:heart: :up:

    Okay, cool. Just wanted to mention it, as in the first Pic there's actually somebody inside the block... But that's the only thing i found, i like the way it's blocked, even though i can't jump on any funny places

    Thanks for the feedback evil<3! I appreciate it.
    Sjosz covered that the mesh blocking (or lack thereof) was intentional, but we probably should have checked to make sure someone couldn't hide in there. We could have made it smaller. I don't think it would be a competitive advantage tho.

    That's one of my favorite rooms too. And one of the first that got deco in the first beta and- probably- the room that changed the most over time in regards to deco.

    Thumbs up a map to be more experienced than played

    You gotta wonder about a map dedicated to a serial killer, besides that this map has great atmosphere with castle/dungeon setting, blank floor panels and good gameplay. I just wish it had more weapons; although, excellent choice of Bach music track.

    Thumbs up Decent map that is based on.

    Great atmosphere, parallel cryptic/dungeon layouts, and meshes. Like the torches, bottom area, carpets, skull banners, and some of the weapon/item placements putting with the pentagon symbol (except the bottom area). Brought a custom Bach background music and great skybox choice. More edifying balance for this DM map and bots are tough. I'm not talking about a serial killer which this map is based on.
