    MAP-DM Q3DM4

    Name: DM-Q3DM4
    Version: Final
    Compatibility: UT2004 (latest patch)
Description: The Q3DM4 Industrial Storage Facility was originally used as a storage area for liquids used in teleportation. However, as the facility grew more and more empty, it was turned into an arena for the tournaments.
Comments: This map started of as a way of keeping me busy when I was bored. But as more and more work went into the map, I could hardly not finish this map. Pretty much all content is custom, and you may use everything you wish, as long as you ask it in a convincing manner.

I like it very clean, high frame rate and the lack of the super weapons a treat, have to earn your point in this one very little protection. Please do some more.

Scale is very large compared to it's original.

I'm curious why all of these Quake remakes have started to appear, and even more curious why the maps chosen weren't even that beloved by us Quake fans.

This was one of the less memorable default quake maps, whose best feature was the red armor location and the location of the rocket launcher. Other than that it was a spawn rapers paradise and this one is no more fun to play than the original.

    you gotta raise the bar.

It's alright. I would have used the castle theme rather than the shiny metals... I like the teleporter emitter. The map is pretty large as was stated.

I looked at the original map to compare. The general layout is faithful.

One bug I saw is in the room with the big giant pillar, bots somehow seem to get stuck in the wall and stay there. They are not shootable either... One bot stayed for about 10 seconds and finally moved out. The other just "died"...

I do it mainly for the fun of doing it. Though I do pick maps I personally liked. Q3DM2 was an exception as a poster asked me and it turned out to be an easy project. I never played many games on Q3DM4, so I don't really remember it too much.

To be honest, I randomly picked one and started remaking it un Ued. So don't look for a logic on why I chose that map because there is none

And you're right, the scale is off...

Yeah, that's a good reason. I picked some fun maps that there are either no versions for or there may be a version but it's tacky or not my kind of map. Though for some of the maps where there are no versions, it may be because the map sucked too much to merit doing one.

Currently I'm doing up Q3Tourney2 and Q3CTF2. Nearly done with the CTF one and it was a fun project. I've never done CTF before.

If you plan to on upgrading the map, get those weird vines that look like fluid is in them. The ones that were by the armor in the mist area. If you stick with industrial theme, maybe find a pipe substitute or something. Also, why didn't you title the map "Place of Many Deaths"? Some people may remember that more than the simple number.

cool big Earth in the sky, map seems to be converted to some strange metallic space version of the Q3 map; the music fits but no Q3 theme at all I don’t like, bots are decent, scaled well for UT2004.
