Help trying to use cd images.(legaly..)

Ok ppls here is my situation, i have 2 pcs in LAN,the pc were i installed the game is the one i am not in at the moment, i used to have the game installed in there but formated, and not the cd drive is working bad(if we can call that " working") it barely reads some cds and i think it broke me one already.

I have UT 2004 in cd version (6 cds) so i made 6 cd images and sent them to the other pc, then emulated them and installed the game whit my cd key and i was happy cuz i didnt needed to buy a new cd or dvd room but then when i try to play, the friendly launcher tells me that i cant run the game from a cd backup, then i try this tactic that already worked before whit other cds:i put the cd in the broken/bad working cd-rom and open the game, it recognize the cd and then i eject it before it freeze the machine tryign to read it, and the game launch and happy again. I though that after that i wouldnt ask me the cd again.. as its supposed to not be needed to play after the install.. at least thats what i remember from previous install. but it ask it again the second time, and i dont want to risk because the cd could get broken.. NOW the question is .. : Anyone know a solution for this? i cant launch whit image cd, i dont want to risk to use the original cd in the bad cd-rom and for now, unelss there is no other way, i dont want to buy another cd/dvd-rom.Maybe there is a patch? or some .ini i could edit? anything ?
P.S. :I think i dont need to say this but i will say it anyway, as far as i know all what i did was legal, the image cd are just backups in the pc i installed the game, and i am using a real cd key, so i am searching for legal solutions.

The need for a CD in the drive was there only in the original UT2004 and a few patches later. The latest patch 3369 doesn't need the CD anymore (just the serial number).

Oh that explains everything, in the last install i, of course, updated the game to play online, so i never needed to put cd again, tnx for that , will download patch and back to download mods for Invasion RPG , love that mod :P
