MAP-DM New Quake 1 remake: Q1DM3 - The Abandoned Base

    Name: Sivak Drac
    Version: 1.1
    Compatibility: UT2004
Description: Here's the largest DM map from Quake: Q1DM3 - The Abandoned Base! Thanks to the beta testers for some of their input. I think the map has come along nicely. I got the bots to MOSTLY jump out of the water now... If only the water support were better in the game. Some changes to the weapon locations are present as well. Most notably: I put the shock rifle outside rather than at the bottom of the water. Makes for some fights out there. The shield that was out there is now where the shock rifle was.

With this done, 4/6 of the Q1 DM maps are finished (by me).

The water looks a little clean for the current theme and the original, but the other textures are very fitting.

Hm, perhaps I should've used my brown water texture for the inside... Oh well. I guess I liked the ocean view idea so much I used the blue water again. But thanks for the comments.

Hey. Glad it's on the server. Would you send me a PM with your e-mail? I'd like to get that bug fixed map tested online sometime as the errors only occurred with internet play.

My email is BelchermanBTC@BelchingToadClan.com its public as it shows on the member roster on our site. We have a cuple mappers in our clan to but they are doing css mainly. If anyone likes q1dm6 for css we have it.

You know a cool map you could convert also is the q1dm7 the lost level. That one rocks. I have on my quake2 server all the q1 levels even singleplayer ones. I also added flags and special stuff to th em. I have all the dm levels 1 -7 and all episodes. It rocks.

    Cool nice one!

the abandoned base; I don’t have Quake1 and never played it but briefly on a couple SP levels, so I have no idea how all these Q1 levels are supposed to look; crazy looking outside screen and water; like the inside courtyard grass and skybox as well as data flying by on monitor barrels and teleporters; textures/meshes combos a little strange but still work; good music choice, tight gameplay and bots are very good and know the map.
