    Comments: It uses textures and static meshes developped by Moonflyer for his map DM-MF-TheLongestYard. It's my first map.

    Whats fixed in this version?
    If it wasn't for the character limit in signatures, you'd be reading a very fascinating story about the seven hundred and sixty one armless and legless corpses floating around in hangar ninety six. Marathon rules.

    Not a lot changed since beta 3:
    I only changed the weapon bases to the ut2k4 ones and reduced volume of the sounds of the pillar.

    Weird. The screenshots have a texture on the trigger-ball, while in the map it's still plain gray. :bulb: :weird:

    The texture on the trigger ball is a projector. You have to activate the projectors in your options.

    Good map, but DM-mf-TheLongestYard was a better remake of the original Q3A map IMHO...
    Don't know why, but I don't feel the same like in Q3A.

    Aw man, this has me torn.. the map itself is very well done, it looks polished and the scale feels spot on.. even better for your first map.

    I miss the real quake music track though, and I do find the Weapon choice a little uncomfortable. The original map had an instant kill railgun.. and the LG just doesn't fill that spot correctly.. I feel the best way to bring that quake gameplay right home would be to replace it with the SuperShockRifle, or even the regular SR.

    The railgun did 90 damage if i recall correctly, two shots = one kill.
    The LG makes 70 damage, two shots = one kill.

    The LG fits pretty good into this map if you ask me. :up:

    I did some tests before choosing the lighting gun to replace the railgun.

    I don't tink the super shock rifle can be on a map with other weapons (It's too powerful). If you want to play with the The super shock rifle, use the mutator instagib. (It's fun on this map)

    And the schock rifle isn't powerful enough and it as the combo shock. It's too different from the railgun.

    Hm, I swear I killed Xaero (and him me) multiple times off just one clean shot, but fair enough. I'd still love to have the Q3 audio track to frag to though.

    But it IS possible to have the SSR in a map with other weapons, I remember playing a saloon themed map which had it in there. Any weapon can be set in a map, I've even seen a translocator and a shield gun on weapons bases before. :weird:

    It's TECNIALLY possible but not fun. Why would you continue to use the rocket laucher if you have a super shock rifle ?

    The LG is the best replacement. Land a headshot and it's an instant kill.

    Good job on the map Akbalder, definitely has that trademark Quake playing style to it.

    Yes, but the SSR has infinite ammo. I did a mutator that gave you all the weapons (SSR included) and it doesn't play well with all the other weapons.

    If someone modified the SSR to have a limited ammo count (something fairly low... 5 maybe?) it could be a viable weapon in a NW match.

    lol, I completely overlooked the infinite ammo :weird:, ok yeah, that would really suck.. objection to the LG overruled.

    If you would like to shoot weapons with infinite ammo, then use the Target Practice mutator by Angel Mapper (included in CBP2 vol.2)....

    If anything (And i do like this style of Q3 maps) ((ie: QuantumFlux, Longest yadda yadda, etc....))

    this map is awesome for tuning you LG aim and getting your hitscaning downpat...

    but you gotta do it with a Godlike for prakk... no point uderwise... this map is very kool if not the Ultimate in frustration lol

    Turn the bot's accuracy down (for all bots actually).

    And when he goes bouncing on the jumpads, you have him. Either by shooting him in mid-air, shooting the target to squish him, or shooting the target a little early and watching him fall into space...

    I downloaded the map today and took a run at it against bots. While I never really played Quake 3 (so I don't have anything to compare it to), I like the map. The texturing and over all look to the map was very nice.

    It seems like there is a conflict with a stock mutator. When I have low gravity enable and I go to use the jump pads (with the arrows only), I instantly die and have a point reduced from my score. There is no animation of any kind, just a black screen.

    A similar thing happens when you are attacked by the "Big Block of Doom". You die and the person who killed you gets the point, but you get the same black screen of no animation.

    I read your Readme file and there is not mention of this. Is it just me that is experiencing this conflict?

    I've just tested with the low grav mutator and i saw the problem.
    I don't think that i will do a second edition of the map just to solve a problem with one mut.
    But i will solve it for the CTF conversion that i'm building.

    I didn't saw this problem. But i will look for it for the CTF conversion.

    Thumbs down doesn't own!

    It has the same textures/meshes as MF-TheLongestYard and it looks good; unfortunately, the jumps aren't quite right and you fall needlessly for that reason.
