    Lopar-XL Announcer Pack BETA v0.2.1a [UPDATED Feb. 24, 2005]

    Name: Lopar-XL Announcer Pack
    Version: BETA v0.2.1a
    Compatibility: UT2004
    Description: This is a custom made Announcer Pack (AP) for UT2004, created with my own voice and few samples I gathered up from various sources.
    Comments: This is an announcer voice pack for Unreal Tournament 2004, created with my own voice and Paul Catalano's new Announcer Packager software, which is at the time of this posting in beta test. I've applied a reverb filter to my sounds to match the other announcers, and added a few sound bits here and there to add flavor. Similar to my Lopar-XL voice pack, it's loaded with dry wit and humorous euphemisms, yet is a (nearly) fully functional Announcer Pack (AP). I tried to be as quick and terse as possible for certain announcements, such as the the ones for ONS and CTF game types. I found the default sounds for these events (like "Blue power node under construction") to be a bit too long, so I shortened mine. Set your Announcements (in the Audio tab) to 'All' and see what you think of it. If you have any bug reports or comments, please E-Mail them to me. The address is in the ReadMe file. My Lopar-XL voice pack is for bots and players to use in the game. If you'd like to download that one, you can find it on Nation Narrow Net or a number of other places such as UT200XHQ, FilePlanet or Levels4You.com. Thank you!

    Version History
    v0.2.1a
    * Fixed the countdown sequence bug. Now it will go from ten to one.

    v0.2a
    * The sounds for "Red flag returned" and all of the Adrenalin events now play like they are supposed to. The newest version of the Announcer Packager (v0.0.7.1) fixes this error.

    v0.1a
    * This is the first public release of the Lopar-XL Announcer Pack.

    Credits: Paul Catalano for his Announcer Packager, The folks at GoldWave, Inc. for making a feature-packed yet easy to use and inexpensive audio recorder/editor program, FindSounds.com, Oreo, CerealKiller and anyone else who playtested my AP and gave feedback.

    Thank you for expressing interest in my work. I'm sorry that it wouldn't load for you, probably found a new bug in the Announcer Packager. I've contacted Mankato about this problem. Hopefully he will respond soon, but in the mean time the only possible solution I can come up with is to edit your USER.INI file. Make a backup copy of it first! Ok, now open up USER.INI in Notepad or whatever and scroll down to the section marked [UnrealGame.UnrealPlayer] and paste this text in under it:

    CustomStatusAnnouncerPack=LoparXL2K4APbeta1a.Lopar XL2K4APbeta1a
    CustomRewardAnnouncerPack=LoparXL2K4APbeta1a.Lopar XL2K4APbeta1a

    There probably will be CustomStatusAnnouncerPack and CustomRewardAnnouncerPack lines already there, so delete them and replace them with the ones shown above. Save the file and start the game. I'll still get to work on what might have caused that problem. Thanks again.

    That's a negative, it did not work. I dunno, but I hope you get it to work soon. I really want custom announcers badly.

    Oh good! ::wipes sweat off of brow:: I'm glad it turned out well and that you enjoyed it! Contacted Mr. Catalano about this problem and said that you might've had a corrupted install of UT2004 or something, but never mind. :noob: :haha:

    This announcer pack is pretty nice (and sometimes humourous).

    I think it belongs with the originals as well.

    Good job.
