    Default Innie or Outie

I was just wondering what everyone would prefer; an indoor level or an outdoor level. Specify why you would like the level and what weapons/tactics you would use. Also specify why you wouldn't like the other. and say what enemies you would expect

"Oww, why would you do that?!?" "That hurts. Its even bleeding" "OMG I hate you"

Outdoor because you arent crampped in a room each level. outside you have can go almost anywhere.... in doors if feels as if a game is too linear ya know? but i still enjoy both, just i like outdoors. Outdoors you can have almost any enemy but indoors you are limited to the ceiling height.
    Thank you for your time,

    ya, i know
but then there could be atruims in the indoor ones like the cell blocks in the demmo
btw, what weapon would u use for that specific place, i would use the shotgun; just for a thought, imagine a combi weaopn of the shotgun and a lancer. the lancer would get the long range guys, the shot gun would get all up in their face and the saw would be for when you run out of ammo

I like both, but if I had to chose I'd go for outdoors. In most occassions, indoors are tight without much space and free room to blast your opponents. But it's fun taking cover behind a couch or other furniturs. Outdoors just have a lot more to offer.

I think Gears of War will offer us a little bit of both.

I would prefer an indoor level because the fire battles would be intense with all the bullets flying around. And the cover is not as good as it is in an outdoor level.

If the game is designed well, it won't matter if it's outdoor or indoors. It should be awesome in either scenario. Condemned featured indoor areas because it was meant to be in your face and brutal and I think the devs pulled it off pretty well. The devs of Gears also said that they're shooting for intimate violence situations and I think that's why the chainsaw gun has worked out so well for them. But the addition of a sniper weapon in Gears also indicates that there will be some long range combat which takes me back to my original point. If CliffyB and everyone else designs the game well, gamers will enjoy both scenarios equally.

I'd love to play both but for some reason lately I've been hoping for some large indoor levels (like a big expensive hotel) where you can go and get into colse quarters, leapfrog style battles in the hallways. And in the main lobby area would be a large open space with plenty of cover.

hell ya too all the stuff, i would probably like the outdoor more because i LOVE to snipe and assault rifles are kick ass too. i would like indoor but it sometimes has the feeling of not enough room, but with gears' cover feature it would turn out great. epic will work it out and we will have both and they both will b sick!

I have to say indoor, just because fighting in close quarters is so cool. And if there is a big enough room, you can try and control key points, like the stairs. And because it is inside you have fewer access points, so more strategy has to be used in order to take control.

its gonna be sweet going around a corner and pumping a guy with a shotty, or walking up the stairs to find some punk-ass hiding back turned in some room and then chainsawing him into mince meat!

I reckon that the best levels would be the ones that are outdoors, in city streets, with burnt-out car wrecks and crumbling buildings missing a wall or two for cover. That would give you enough opportunities for long range, but the amount of cover would make it possible to flank and move closer without getting picked off by enemies with sniper and assault rifles.

But, a solely indoor level in an abandoned hotel/office building would be pretty cool. I can almost smell the gibs from here
Wait there's a chainsaw AND you can curbstomp people!

I have a hard time believing Dom looks safe in that picture. Hiding behind a couch seems a tad scary.

Cliffy B did in fact mention that if you hide behind furniturs they can be demoralized if it gets shot at enough times.

EPIC also said things like couches waste away when shot, so he's even less safe since the couch chips away.

Rainbow Six 3 had a good level design for a game like gears, just hit me. I think the had a few MP that if cover places were added, would work great with the gameplay.

That picture is inside this mansion http://media.teamxbox.com/games/ss/1167/1147226374.jpg. This level is where you are fighting in Marcus's home.....there is a big 'secret' down in the basement and you have to fight your way through! It was in the Gamesmaster (Uk magazine) preview about 2 months ago. Supposedly you hav a massive fight on the steps before entering the mansion, and it doesnt stop!
