    Colonial marines APC

    This a Vehicle model I am working on that is from the movie ALIENS. Just wanted to get some feedback from you guys on what you think. I got all the details in and with a good skin it should rock . any let me know if you notice anything missing.

    it can hold 12 people one as a driver and one as a person maning the little turret, the big one is ativated like the levination vehicle and the back turret slides up the back rail and into place.
    the other other 9 people in the vehicle just have to wait to reach thier destination since this is a troop transport.

    No, lets make this a proper APC. Alternative fire can open the side door and lower the turret (If you want) so we can just walk in and stand in the vehicle... sniper out of windows etc. with hand guns? Besides the coding is easier that way, just 2 people can press [use] to drive or control turret. I really would like to see that turret as a chain gun fire and link turret beam as alt...
    I know, I know guns this and guns that but I think we need a slow ground vehicle or possibly drop ship with charging capabilities.
    I'm working on this right now, but I'm still learning MAYA, so it will be a while.

    Awesome! I'm a huge Aliens fan, and I can't wait to see this in-game. I was hoping someone would make this. I didn't expect attention to detail like the up/down turret fucntion, though; I think that's pretty cool.

    Is it gonna have the machine gun sounds from AvP2?

    Alias,
    There is no windows in the APC :P
    So you'll be shooting rockets and stuff at a wall in there and well Be pwn3d by the wall like most noobies.

    Anyway A suggestion

    Driver Only drives and opens Door and drops the Rear Gun
    Foward Gunner - Zoom- Fire
    Rear Gunner- Zoom- Fire

    if there was some way to make the "Radio" commander useful by giving him locations of enemys would make the vehical more easy to protect and like the command it was in from the aliens movie

    I definatly want to see a dropship that can carry this :up:

    I play alot of instant action and I'll be really dissapointed if there isn't anything that the driver can do except drive. Give him something to shoot! Is the rear cannon going to require the vehicle be stopped to fire?

    I am just a beginner coder and do not know much about vehicle coding so I will be lucky to get it so it plays the turret animations I did my skills are in modeling and animating. if any of you guys would like to help me out with the coding of this vehicle then I would be more then happy to send you the model files and provide any more animations that are needed. this would alow me to focus on the animation and finishing the dropship model

    I know C/C++ and several other languages, so i might be able to code the APC, i also have the DVD version of UT2004, which has several hours of training video on map-making.

    P.S. I am an aliens fan, i think this is a great idea and i suck at modeling.:bulb:

    I need Bones for the following things (with the same names):
    (Also post the Radii for wheels / turrets)

    RightFrontWheel
    LeftFrontWheel
    RightBackWheel
    LeftBackWheel

    FrontTurret
    FrontTurretFirePoint

    MainTurret
    MainTurretFirePoint

    DriverDoor PassengerDoor
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    The driver will fire from the front turett, and one passenger will fire the main turett (the first one in)

    How many should it hold?
    What types of fire should it have / hit points?

    (I was thinking chain gun for the front, link gun for the main
    and making it tough like the ONS-tank)

    Ok I will get the wheels ready.
    now about the door do you want me to put a dark place behind the door so when it is open it does not just have a blank space behind it.

    Also what is the FrontTurretFirePoint ?? I am not sure what you mean still new to unreal vehicle makeing.

    and what is Radii for wheels?

    I am getting the wheels and and front turret ready as soon as you say what you want me to do with the door I will get it ready.


    The small turret should be like the 50 cal on the tank. and the big turret should fire explodeing rounds.
