    Question CTF-BelowTokaraDeluxe

    Name: CTF-BelowTokaraDeluxe
    Version: Final
    Compatibility: UT2004 - no extra files needed
    Description: Set in the former drainage system for the Tokara Forest Arena. Later refurbished to provide a practice arena for the Tokara Forest competitors. After the Forest Arena became mostly destroyed from the constant tournaments, the forest and practice arenas were left derelict. Now, disused and slightly run-down, the practice arena was recently re-acquired by Liandri and opened as a tournament arena.
    Comments: This was the original concept map that spawned DM-BelowTokara. Icut my UEd teeth on this one and am pretty satisfied with how it turned out. However, I am not releasing this to beta. I'm calling it final now. I've spent months working on it and it is no masterpiece. It ended up being bigger than I imagined so I also added a CTF version because it seems better suited for that.
    It also contains the DM-BelowTokara rooms because this is what those came from. I'm releasing it now because it's in a state that's good enough to be released, it's not really good enough to make a big deal out of, and becasue it's time I let go of this and start something new.
    I worked on this for so long it would be a shame not to release it. it is a little graphics heavy but I did optimize. But it could be better.
    I hope you enjoy it. Any feedback is, as always, very welcome.
    P.S. I did fix some of the collision issues people were having within the sections from DM-BelowTokara

    Is the only difference between this and the DM variant the inlcusion of the flags on the map? Anyway, d/ling .

    Difference between DM & CTF:

    CTF version has two new rooms (for the flags)
    CTF version has different weapon placement.

    Great Map ArcadiaVincen - a lot of fun.

    I have all your other maps as well and they are all keepers. - Thanx.

    I noticed a small glitch in the graphics at one point. I don't know the right terms to explain it so here's some screenies. It may well just be an issue with my rig, I dunno, but thought you might like to check it out. I hope you will be able to recognise the area of the map that I'm referring to.

    Image 1 - come out of the water and go up the lift.
    Image 2 - Walk toward the RED valve / rub up against it.
    Image 3 - A plain green color appears.

    My Setup [ basics ] :

    Pentium 4 - 3.0 gHz
    1 Gb RAM
    Nvidia Ti 4200 8xAGP 128 MB RAM

    UT2004 patch 3236.


    Image 1 - come out of the water and go up the lift.


    Image 2 - Walk toward the RED valve / rub up against it.


    Image 3 - A plain green color appears.

    You found it! The magic green easter egg!
    Just kidding.
    Bizarre. It's a BSP hole but I can't think of why it owuld only appear when rubbing against that valve. I can tell you it's the map and not your rig - so don't worry about that. When I get home I'll try to duplicate the error.

    great map very nice... but i noticed that none of the statics lined up properly so there all these holes i keep falling trough making the map unplayable sorry but could u mabye make a version with out any holes please

    Woah! What holes? I never encountered any - can you be more specifc? I'd be happy to fix them...

    well not always i guess i over exadurated but it happens often enough and the visual quality is going down ill get some screens soon

    Thumbs up great graphics!

    OK, this is one insanely-good graphics map with decent gameplay. The ambient sounds and obvious music choice fit all to create a great gaming environment. The unsymmetrical bases is cool and the layout takes a while to figure out and it is difficult, but still lots of fun. I didn't fall through any holes or get stuck, so I guess that's good.

    This map has some good landscape, atmosphere, details, and gameplay; apparently this is for the underground style, unlike the default UT2004 map "Tokara Forest". The ambient sounds and lighting are favorable and very well. Some paths and jump pads are in good taste. Very intense z-axis and the bots are quite good, primarily I won't criticize some textures and undesirable stuffs, so this should be going then.

    This 'deluxe' map contains extended paths with large scales and inhabitants of good environment. More pipes and corridors on the go. Similar to the small original one: Great gameplay, massive z-axis and the bots are quite good. Only one thing: I don't like the skybox.
