If I liked UT better, I wouldn't be on this forum

Thats a tough one...its a toss up between UT and UT2K4, but i'd say UT, by a VERY slim margin.

Fragmaster, how can you say 2K3 is better tahn UT or UT2K4?

I'm gonna say UT2k4. With all the remakes popping up, it's like getting the best from both worlds!

I love the original UT too, but ut2004's running flawlessly in Linux tipped the balance for me.

    There's just something about it

UT was good, but just not quite as good I personally felt. UT2K4 - Oh dear. There's just a lot of little points that I don't like about it, and it seems to be a glorified (huge) expansion pack lol. The translocator was messed up big time, too.

There's nothing seriously wrong with it, but just a lot of little things that I don't like and others do. I'm gonna get lamed for this :haha: but I never really liked the vehicles as part of the game either. They're fun, YES, but they don't seem to belong in a UT game.

UT will always be the best for me, but UT2004 is just fine... could make CTF a lil more exciting again though. And i don't know why but i think movement is too slow or something for instagib, it's just not fun anymore

    IMHO:

    UT was the most original
UT2k4 has the most complete content

UT2k3 was the most enjoyable to play.

ut sucked balls quake 3 was 10x the game it was, 2k3 was great but to hard for people.

2k4 has loads of content but some large flaws that kill it's staying power to all but the fan boys.

If said flaws were fixed, 2k4 would be incredible.

Well they were all great during the time I spent playing them.

Looking back on it now I really dont know which to say!

UT was great, many memories. UT2003 was great...again many memories. UT2004 is great...not many memories yet, but I'm still enjoying it.

    2k3....

It got killed by its learning curve, but once you spent some time on it, the combination of fast weapon switch and complex movement was close to perfection.

agreed, but look at the noobs around you.

2k3 had some issues which could have had a fast fix (and 2k3 drew in allot of quakers like me, some of them are uber sick now).

in 2k3 a "perfect game" was easier to get, 2k4 is is to close to the old ut99 "me loves my all over powered weapons crap cause me is a noob" that sadly allot here seem set on.

    UT2004

But I did like UT2003's boost dodging and fast weapon switching... fix the damn UT2003 Style mutator Epic!*

*Yes, I know there's a third-party mutator, but if Epic put it into the game, then it should work. Same with UTV
