    Default Zone related lightning problem

I have two zones with different lightning. One is mostly lit by blue lights and the other with
yellow/orange lights. Now this could have been nice if the zone hadn't made everything
weird. The BSP faces with textures on them no longer have a smooth spectrum of blue
and yellow, instead there is a rough 'edge' near the zone border. Is there a way to make
this undesirable effect to go away?

There are also BSP faces in the middle of a zone that creates shadows in the faces's
    borders. Not good :sour:

    Any help would be appreciated...

well what you could do is put a static mesh between the zones and because it uses vertex light the effect would be more gradual.

Yep. Rule #1. If all else fails, cover it up with a static mesh.

Hehe... I'm afraid that wouldn't be .. ehm... good. Since the shadows were created in
a doorway. Maybe this is something I just have to accept... a flaw in the Unreal Engine.
I raised the texture detail from 'low' to 'normal' and the undesired effect disappeared.

    Weird...

I still would like an answer how zoning works from a lightning perspective. Lets say
I have a corridor divided into two zones. The first zone doesn't have a light of its
own... but a spot light in the far end of the second zone is directed towards the first
zone. It is strong enough to brighten both zones, but still the zoneportal some how
filters the light and the first zone remain pretty dark compared to the second zone.

Thoughts anyone, or is this something that only I have experienced?

Well, lights far away from the zone portal tend to do that. If you have a light pretty close to it, it usually lights up properly.

OK, thanks for the answer. It might also be because that zone was already pretty dark
compared to that zone from which the light came from. Sometimes one has to soften these
shadows with more lights... well back to work
