Looks nice but why did you have to call it SakuraGarden? Now you have me think about Card Captors ond the kick ass Sakura player model I had for UT99. Man I wish there were more kick ass anime models out there for ut2004 ... Anyway, will try it out later, looks good .

    the moonlight is screwed up:bulb:

the trees have so much lighting on them they have turned white, i'm sure they are meant to be orange unless your unsing a custom texture.

the roofs tops are blue as well for some reason, that doesn't look like moonlight at all.

also your terrain texture needs stretching out more, you can see all the lines in it if you know what i mean

    hope my feedback helps

Once again, Sakura is a white-to lightish pink blossom which contains high spiritual value (as well as countless haiku content), so having that as is seems fitting. Although the blue is a bit awkward, it would only need minor tweaking to fix.

EDIT: good god, I'm starting to sound like a Japanophile in this thread (accursed Japanese Culture Through Film college course...)

...and this is why UT needs some more ninja and samurai-style models (despite the conceptual oddity an all-out melee of stealth-based class structure would provide. Frick, it's UT, suspend the disbelief)

P.S. Many cherry blossoms here too, as I live in either DC or NYC depending on the school season.

I noticed one problem with this map. If you get on top of the building (not the one with the statues in front of it) you can go outside of the map.

Very nice map, very fun and great theme/feel. I too noticed the tiled effect with the grass however, and what's with the two hills near the side of the main building? Not only do they look like butt cheeks or breasts with how they are positioned but they also have a see through film wrapped around them. Also is there any way to optimize a little better near the tree covered path with out removing any trees? FPS seem to not like that area. The shadows in that area seem fake too... that is if those black marks are suppose to be shadows like I assume.

Why on earth can't you download from NaliCity? There are five free mirrors for that file there:

    edome (Finland)
    FactoryUnreal (Pennsylvania, USA)
    FileFront (California, USA)
    Gameservers.net (The Netherlands)
    Jetstream (New Zealand)

Try this more direct route: http://download.beyondunreal.com/fil...kuragarden.zip

    I'm getting it from FileFront.
If I knew why it failed then I would not have to ask for another mirror.

fair enough on the tree then . but the lighting on that tree is way to bright, and your saying a white-pinkish colour should it have more pink evenly spread and not at the edge of the leafs?

but that blue lighting on the roof tops needs to go, the moonlight hasn't even got a powerful blue like that colour, and the blue is only on the roof tops and not on the floors, have you used normal lights for this? try using a sunlight acotr and add some colour to it, but the blue doesn't look cool at all looks very unrealistic:down:

Eh, I took it as eminating its own light, which I thought was a nice effect, but as for the color, you tell me.

Why not keep the files the same names but name the zip file "Dm-SakuraGardenV2.zip" That way it will upload as a new file, but when people unzip it it will prompt to over write any existing files.

Ah, I didn't realize he was going with a realistic concept for the map, I thought perhaps since he specifically used the term sakura which is highly reguarded for it's spiritual properties in its country of origin, that perhaps artistic licence was being used, what with it being Unreal Tournament and all.

You are right about the pinkish edges though as seen here They tend to pink before falling, and in that case it spreads from the inside-out.
