    Default Removing unwanted file associations from a level

    Hey guys,

    I'm porting a map from one mod to another. Problem I am having atm is, i have completely removed all the old mods files, static meshes and textures .u files etc. I even exported the level as a .t3d and looked in a text editor for any file associations(nothing there), YET, the map, upon loading with the new mod , still asks for the original mod files, very annoying !!!

    How do I completely remove all the old mod (hidden) file associations?

    Ok, I tracked down the source i think, it has to do with a player start from the old mod. (Note, this player start is not even in the level at all).Here is the error i get when i remove the OLDMOD.u file from my system folder and try to load the map into ued.

    Bad expr token 3a

    History: SerializeExpr <- (3A) <- SerializeExpr <- (6B) <- UStruct::Serialize <- (Class myLevel.OLDMOD_PlayerStart72) <- UState::Serialize <- UClass::Serialize <- (Class myLevel.OLDMOD_PlayerStart72) <- LoadObject <- (Class myLevel.OLDMOD_PlayerStart72 44525358==44525358/44748985 44525302 76) <- ULinkerLoad::Preload <- PreLoadObjects <- UObject::EndLoad <- UObject::LoadPackage <- UEditorEngine::Exec_Map <- UEditorEngine::Exec <- (MAP LOAD FILE="C:\UT2004\NEWMOD\Maps\NewMapName.ut2") <- UUnrealEdEngine::Exec <- WEditorFrame::OnCommand <- WWindow::WndProc <- WWindow::StaticProc <- MessagePump <- MainLoop
    How can i remove this actor (OLDMOD_Playerstart72) when its not even physically in the level anywhere?

    ok, this is how u do it...

    you gotta load the origional map... hunt down all references to the files.. and delete them before you export or try to reopen in your own version. i've had this prob with deck 8. I had a mutator called superassultrifle.u/
    it replaced all the sniper guns with it by default.. and when i tried to open it in another install of ut without the mutator.... it kept crashing, till I wen't back to the origional map with the mutator installed then deleted all references to superassultrifle.u.. ie.. all the weapon bases before i found the prob.. then reopened it again in my default install of ut... and re did the bases.. then bingo bam.. it worked. hope that helps...
