    Question The UnrealEd FSAA bug!!!

Ok, I don't know if this will work for everyone, and I don't know if it's already known. But for some time the UnrealEd FSAA bug has been a pain in my ass seeing as I enjoy running my games with the AA on. Anyhow, today while messing around I came to realize something, on my 9800 (Cat 4.3's) if I just disable fast writes in the control panel the FSAA bug in UnrealEd goes away.

Now like I said I'm not sure if it would work for everyone, and I'm also not sure if this is known but I figured I'd post my findings and see if it helps anyone else.

Sabo - Umm.. .he obviously knows about the bug.. he's just posting a way he found to get around the bug, which sounds worthy of posting to me.

    Nope!

Didn't work for me. I have the new drivers as well on my 9800xt.

--- open not nice mode ------

Still can't pick anything in UeD without disabling FSAA. F____ing bug. ...and I don't know whether to flame Epic or ATI, or both for this crap.

Yeah for some odd reason it came back on mine after reboot. So I guess it was a fluke. It is quite odd that it would just work like that all of a sudden.

So, this problem continue to exist in UT2004's version of UnrealEd.. it was the same in UT2003's version.. If im right, this is ever since the Cat. 4.x driver series..
I had a ATI 9700 Pro at that time on a older system and all experienced the same thing.. and sometimes when you (re-)installed the drivers it worked (picking things up in editor)... at the moment only. As soon as a reboot was done it wasn't working anymore..

I'd say this is ATI's fault, not Epic. ATI sucks balls and lacks fixing things. Their screwing up their own products with their poor driver/support IMO.... It's not just the editor ATI cards have problems with. I experienced problems with various games in the past.. i'll spare ya further details..

Since a few months i got this new system as my sig shows below, but not ever noticed a single problem so far.. NVIDIA 4EVER!

I doubt fixing a bug to satisfy those few hundred people out there who not only use the editor...but enable fsaa as well is high on their list...

    peh!

Since nVidia does not have the problem, it's an ATI problem. So i will start flaming ATI. So here goes:

    ahem, poopie ATI.
