I also heard (verify this if anyone else has heard it) that they are coming out with different versions of the game for different places. Apparently what is accepted in one place is not accepted in another (imagine that) so there will be some with less blood etc.

I remember reading that or hearing it somewhere, not sure though. It could have something to do with the price difference but I don't think so.

What Epic is going to do is have an option in the game where you can switch from PG-13 mode to M. PG-13 mode will tone down the swearing and the blood(i believe). There is a thread about this on the fourms, but i am not in the mood to find it.

yea u cna't stop litle kids from playing because all they will do is have there parents take off the restriction on their xbox so there really is no way to completely block them and about the rep thing u also have to think about all the little kids on there friends list who will leave them good feedback.

This topic has been completly sidetracked, but oh well...


Halo 2 is fun on MP, but 90% of the people who play it are kids or just grown-ups acting like kids. I just ignore the whole community on Halo 2 because there really is no way to change the way people are acting. If I wan't a good community I just play some GRAW. There are always cool people there(well in most occasions).

I hope Gears of War will keep the immature kids away since this is more of a tactical shooter rather than run-and-gun like Halo.

This was confirmed? That's good, I was worried they were just gonna censor the game in certain regions.

My feelings are somewhat bitter sweet about what this game will become over Xbox Live, I mean I want Epic to make money on this game, but I don't want it to get so mainstream and turn into a Halo type experience (over live) When I play games like GRAW, I always get cool people who aren't homophobic 12 year olds.

Basically what I am saying, is that I don't want Gears of War to become mainstream, simply due to the fact it will ruin the hardcore gamers xbox live experience.

GoW2 already is the 3rd best selling game ofd the 360. They made it for people who couldn't play GoW1, it's already mainstream. That's why it's so bad. Money is more important then pleasing the fans. The sad part is that people are still willing to buy all the DLC and stuff so we will always be ripped everytime. Someone is going to buy the game if you don't and it will be as broken as every other time.

well a game could be mainstream.

but when it comes to sequels, suddenly your have to deal with a lot more opinions on the game. and i can imagine this giving trouble to a direction for the game..
we will "my guess" see a game a lot like gears2, i may not like it, but in the end of the day im only one of the minority... so

its all depends on customised game play preferences. leave a lot of the parameters
to the audience and probarly and a bigger audience should be pleased..
but thats just my opinion.

i love playing gears, but i do agree that it would ruin the game if the annoying little kids jumped on and just sat at the spawn and spin in circles, or as the leader in guardian run over to the other team and tag them with a smoke, just because they think its funny, when the other 4 people are trying to win the game, screaming and yelling just because they got gibed, no immature kids on gears .com(virbal exclamation point)

A lot of the people that are playing it now are no better than homophobic 12 year old's. Almost every time I play I get cussed out and insulted by people in their 20's and 30's. There will always be assholes in video games, you just have to ignore them.

Seriously, there aren't that many annoying kids. It is just that an experience which stands out, in this case the annoying behaviour of the kid, is better memorized than the quiet or cheerful games you've played. You could compare it to a card game: For instance, if you'd win 5 games and your opponent wins 5 games, but you get completely humiliated in one or two of those losses, you will believe that you were unlucky in cards. This however isn't the case, but because those humiliations settle in your brain it feels like you were unlucky.

You should count the number of annoying kids (and adults) in games, you'd be surprised how low it'd actually be. (especially in Gears, it's worse in CoD 4/5)

Hell, little kids don't really piss me off, they should make it so that you have to take some kind of IQ/Maturity test before you play, cause I can't tell you how many times these MLG "pro's" think that they are so badass because they are good on a video game.

Theres no way to really stop it. I would like to see these people on gow2 as well -only thing epic could do is make it more for the hard-core gamers and more mature (so it doesnt attract the minds of little kids) but then again what 12-year old wouldnt want to chainsaw locust.

There are more kids on Gears 2. It's easier for them to get kills while in Gears 1 they just get owned.
