    Exclamation Onslaught

I have ut2003 and im still a bit undecided if i want to get 2004.
Considering onslaught is my main interest in 2004,i have some questions.

How many onslaught maps are in ut2004?
Would you say onslaught is going to stay popular for awhile?

    1. Tons. More than you need. The fan-made maps rule. w00t! MarioIsland!
    2. Duh. You've obviously never played this game before. It'll last longer than you will.

About 8 levels off the top of my head.

Then there's the 2 bonus pack levels, both very good.

    Then there's icarus.

So that's 11 levels, just for starters.

Second question: Who can say? Probably.

ya, i think there are 8 maps (i just looked, and my ons maps are overrun w/ usermaps so can't be certain) that came w/ the game. another official one was released the day it came out, plus 2 more a week later (up to 11 "official" maps).. as the user above said, there are a TON of great user maps, and this is just the beginning. you'll never get bored w/ the maps. as for ons sticking around, i'm sure it'll be around until the last of the ut2k4 servers get taken down... if that ever happens

    Here are the Maps: http://www.unrealtournament.com/ut20...s.php?type=ons

You can play a few custom maps as well. ONS is one of my favorites, is it worth getting UT2004 for, that is really up to you I think its nice because it combines all the elements of the game.

Let me put it this way:

There are many people who detest UT2003, but love UT2004. Also not that UT2004 has all of 2003's content plus an extra 60+ maps.

I would recommend downloading the demo and trying it out yourself. However, finding demo servers may be difficult, so you might have to just try instant action with some bots (not as good as online play IMO).

As for whether ONS has longevity, that is the game mode that I play the most (I still kinda suck at it, but it's fun). And according to the server browser, there are more ONS servers out there than other game modes (at least the last I checked). Not that the other modes are bad, I just haven't had the time to really play them. I guess one of these days I should find some time to try out the other modes a bit more.

    My 2 cents.

New maps come out on a daily basis for ONS, but it doesnt really matter - the beauty of onslaught is you could play the same map 50 times in a row, and every time would be like a different game.

Dont hesitate another minute dude, go for it and we'll see you online soon - ready to show you up close just what the alt-fire on the Manta does ;o)
