    Smile gametype idea

    SB-SpaceBattle

    team game
    space based maps with two carriers and/or motherships each with many turrets and subsystems(just something like a bypass or a shield generator that protects the power core).You can walk truh the ship and choose between use a space figther or a turret.
    The first team destroy all the turrets ,bypass and the power core wins.

    just an idea i canīt program.I would like to see this gametype on a patch or something then I will play this instead of AS-Mothership

    How about an onslaught map that takes place in space? Perhaps a challenge to program, but let's say there are no power nodes to destroy, only two cores, and the set-ups are slightly akin to AS-Mothership. So basically, the same thing, but instead of a new game type, simply a new breed of maps in an existing one. People, once in a spacefighter, could stay in one, because the core could be accessed through one, and there are no nodes to create.

    I've been thinking of creating a mod that just has a bunch of stuff that would enable mappers to make spacefighter maps for any gametype. Stuff like space-cores, space-nodes, space-flags, spaceballs, space dom points, etc. You wouldn't need a new gametype! But I've got a few other projects of a higher priority, and I'd need someone to create models for this. So I probably wouldn't get around to it in a while.

    I got to it yesterday. I just got it working right for Deathmatch and most objective-less gametypes (LMS, TDM, Assassin, possibly Mutant). I just need to add and code the replacement objectives, and I think I need to make a few changes to the spacefighters for Bombing Run.

    It would be cool if you could hijack the enemy carriers and/or scuttle them.

    Yeah. It'd be screwed up... But my goal is ALL gametypes in space, so it MUST BE DONE.

    ANYWAY... As for hijacking, that'd be too hard for the player. But if someone made some larger, slower spacecraft to pilot, it'd work. Like... Say you're in a motorcycle, and some ******* is also in a motorcycle, and you want to steal his ride AND his meatball sub. But you're both on the highway. Wouldn't it be easier if he was in a bus?

    I might have not had the nodes set up right, but I made a go at a ship to ship ONS map but the bots kept bailing out of their raptors as soon as they left the ship. I still had gravity so it was quite bothersom and the path noding was quite cumbersom.

    HOLY HELL IT WORKS.

    Man, I though it would be SO much harder getting CTF to work. But I did, and it was EASY. There are still a couple problems. For one, if the flag carrier crashes into a wall, it's almost impossible to recover the flag. Also, there's no way of knowing who's carrying the flag. But I can fix those problems.

    this idea would be really fun

    i could see something a little different though:

    maybe there are nodes, that when you cap the node, the ship that the node is in becomes yours to control with turrets and such.
    then new spacefighters will appear

    -or-

    there is a big mothership, with nodes in concnetric circles of it, the attacking team needs to find a place and attach to a node, then work there way down into the ship and destroy the motherships core.
