    Oh yeah.

I've gone back to my UT method of dealing with the addiction.... periodically uninstalling the game. I know... that's a bit extreme, but I work, alone, out of my house, on the same puter that I game on. Whenever work gets to be a drag or boring (nearly all the time) I fire up 2K4 for a quick game.... that usually turns into several hours of playing

Yes I have a problem.... I frilling enjoy the heck out of playing

    I AM a 2K4 addict.

this game is about as addictive as a bad nicotine habit....I need at least a few onslaughts, one CTF and a DM a day....

    not healthy...

    I'd say mildly...

last, and ONLY game, I've ever gotten addited to was Wheel of Time...20+ hours on a server straight every weekend. Awesome good times...best part was you could talk while playing, and no one EVER complained.

    Yeah, its addictive as hell...

I broke my leg three weeks ago during a soccer match..... So the first couple a weeks i couldnt do much.. So i intended to work on school alot, and work ahead of things... But everytime a start up my pc that lil 2K4 shortcut twinks at me:

Aaah what the heck, two games, school can wait. Most of the times this results in at least an hour of intense gaming...

I also notice that this game can make me pretty agressive :$
Sometimes in DM when things arent going as planned i smash my mous to my desktop... This only happened once, but i was amazed of the power i release on that poor mouse: BAAAANGG...

Here's my problem. I'll be playing late into the night, and decide to quit because I REALLY need to sleep to get up for work the next morning. But while I'm flossing/brushing, I fire up as a spectator to watch, and modes that I'm planning on getting into soon, such as BR and CTF. Then I end up watching till the end of the match, making me stay up even later!

Yesterday, for the 1st time since I've gotten UT2k4, I didn't play. I collapsed around 9:30 because of lack of sleep through the week had me exhausted. (I was up till 2am the night before.)

Yes, I would say it's addictive.

anything by Blizzard just kicks ass all over the place. I still have a level 78 Barbarian (Diablo 2) on battle-net, that I play around with sometimes. starcraft was awesome, warcraft 1 was all I played (besides Doom) during that time. Diablo 1 was old/new and addictive. Hell, even warcraft 2 is still fun with the battle-net edition. Those guys just refuse to put out an unpolished piece of software. More developers should take a lesson from them. (Not Epic, they're cool)

It took me almost 2 years just to get noticed by soem of the better players. Now that UT2004 has such good ratings people are buying it and going online with no sense on how the game works.

The whole UT series is addictive!!!
I started playing UT in early 1999 and have never really been interested in anything else. I had a brief fling with Quake III but for me the UT series hits the spot
I hope I continue to enjoy it for many more years to come.

I'll agree to a certain extent. When I first installed it, I could not stop playing at all. I'm down to perhaps 10 or 12 hours a week now, which I guess could be considered a lot. But there is no way I'll be removing it anytime soon. I still have every Unreal ever published on my HD.

I'll tell you what I got bored with in a hurry...BFV. I bought it on a Friday night, and by Sunday was completely bored with it and extremely disappointed with the overall game. If you want to see some unhappy campers, go visit a BFV board. Many of them are sitting there waiting for a patch so they can actually play it with any success at all. It's a good game, but really needs a lot of work. I'm thinking of getting BF1942 and the expansion packs. They're cheap in price now and I've heard a lot of good about it. Just for some diversion so I don't get completely burnt out on Unreal.

Sure, UT2k4 needs some polishing, but when compared to BFV there is obviously a huge difference in quality control and user satisfaction. Go read the boards, you'll see. UT2k4 definitely deserves 2004 Game of the Year. If it doesn't get it, I'll be pissed, but I'm well aware at the same time it has some stiff competition for that title.

Mind you, having it on the LAN helps, I've got the kids addicted to it as well. (Makes me sound like some kind of creepy drug baron eep!)
