    Can you spectate your own game, if you are hosting a listen server ??

    press escape when ingame and check if theres a spectate button

    I have tried pressing esc during gameplay, but when I press spectate it says "Can not spectate at this time"

    Well, that's probably your answer. Add some bots or get somebody connected to you and see if it still does that...

    I can never spectate my listen server but thats because I set mine to allow 0 spectators. Might want to check that setting.

    A Server that is *not* a true dedicated one.

    There is also a gremlin in that the host of one cannot use the mic for voice chat from one.

    A dedicated server is a server that runs in the background on your computer, the game doesn't have to be running for the server to be up.

    A listen server is a server that runs only when you are running the game, if you exit the game the server closes.
