    Add Vehicles to any map in any game type

    Like many of you, I love the new vehicles in UT2k4. I was disappointed to see that they were limited to only a few gametypes. Searching for a way to add vehicles to my maps, I came across the VSOverride actor written by Parser. I built a test map using this actor and, indeed, I was able to use vehicles in my maps. While running some online tests, I noticed that there were a few bugs in team games, most notably with multi-passenger vehicles. Also, with VSOverride, it was not possible to have vehicles locked to a particular team. After a lot of research and reading through the game scripts, I have found an easier and more reliable way to add vehicles to maps, regardless of game type.

    Try Car Launcher (CL5), it's fantastic and does exactly what it says on the tin.

    Actually coding a factory is quite simple, just save the ONSVehicleFactory.uc file under a new name in your new vehicles script directory and change the vehicle it spawns under defaultparams.

    Try Car Launcher (CL5), it's fantastic and does exactly what it says on the tin.
    its ok for offline play but you cant have that online..ppl can be idiots and spawn a ton of cars and there goes your server...its a BAD idea to use CL onine on your server

    Not true! You can limit the amount of ammo people have, and then from then on you can define the amount of kills people have to get to earn more ammo...

    (CL5) is very cool. I have checked it out before. But spawning your own vehicle at will was not what I wanted. My tutorial shows how to add vehicles to the map itself, regardless of game type.

    I would check out worm2k4 for that(no link handy)

    it does the same thing, but no coding on your part(unless you want to code)

    i think this was made for the mappers, so they can make a map w/ vehicles in dm or whatev0r

    its not for the ppl who play it, i think its pretty useless for them

    does this also w0rX w/ the ECE vehicles?!

    You might want to try " JCB Content Mania". JCBCM is a set of two mutators; A SETUP mutator and a PLAY mutator. The SETUP mutator gives you a 'weapon' that lets you 'fire' out a vehicle, vehicle factory, weapon, ammo, or any of dozens of other map resources, then it saves an INI file that allows you to play the map with those new added resources by using the PLAY mutator.

    Nice! I always thought having an entirely different gametype just because vehicles were in a board didn't make much sense. I think I'll swap my VCTF board over to a CTF with vehicles if this all works out.

    THnk you very much for this tool and the tutorial. THis is what I need for my upcoming map.

    Will it work with custom vehicles? I have not tried yet to spawn custom vehicles with the ASVehicleFactory or even you KV Factory.

    but with the cl5 you cant spawn vehicles in dm, well you can, but you cant get in them, it just says vehicle locked

    A very good resorce. I've had a lot of map Ideas that involce vehicles, but I don't really like the Idea of a whole new gametype. A few questions:

    1: Does this work with the fighters from mothership?

    2: Is it safe to asume that it works with the new vehicles in the Editers Choice pack?
