(Disclaimer: I know this has been around for a while but we have a LOT of new members)

The mod that takes the two hit games and combines them, Unreal Annihilation, will finally be released (first beta) on April 20th! Originally in development for UT(99), UA has gone through a lot (I've been eagerly following it's progress, I LOVED TA )

Noy only does it allow the player to control thier army from the 'God' perspective seen in all RTS games, but you can also possess a unit to take the enemy army head on!

Multiple players on the same team can be both in the God view or both posessing units, requiring teamwork and coordination to defeat your opponents.

(btw I'm in no way affiliated with the UA team. I just like the idea muchly)

yer sadly there probably will be a lot of things about it that just arent quite right to begin with... thats the point of betas I guess...

I think with a bit of help from the commuity these guys can really pull it off

I'm a TA player from way back and plan to DL and try out this TC.

But I just know that someone who used to work for Cavedog owns the rights to anything "TA" and they won't like this little project one bit.

This is great! wonderful news MarZer! I'm a hardcore TA fan! Total Annihilation is one of the best games ever and definitely the best RTS. heart

I just hope the Unreal Annihilation will be fun too. noob

For anyone who's interested, the earliest attempt at an FPS/RTS merging that I am aware of was 'Defeat In Detail' from the crew at www.planetquake.com/elf

They've been operating for years now.
